When you go to this place be sure to repaet your order, double check and then look at it before you leave. Ive been to this place twice in my life. Food is good. But whoever be at the cash register cant hear well, cant speak english well or is just all around special because they are 2 for 2 with getting my order absolutely WRONG! IF I COULD GET WHAT I ORDERED IT WOULD BE A 4.

I really wanted to like this place but it was just okay. Nothing special. My son got an asada torta and he really liked it. I ordered an asada burrito and it was bland. No flavor at all. I thought the salsa might help but it didn't. I saw the cook making a shrimp dish and he used the same utensils for my asada so I can taste the shrimp in my burrito. Fortunately I don't have a seafood allergy. Might try it again to see if I just got a dud.

It's rather amusing that I worked about 10 minutes away from Top Shelf for 19 years and it wasn't until I retired a few years back that I finally made it here. I was across the street at Scottsdale quite often to visit the parents of "challenging" students but never realized a gastronomic paradise was waiting across the street. Man oh man, I had been missing out. I ordered the Al Pastor burrito wet and let me tell you, it was delicious. Not a huge burrito but a generous amount of food. The sauce was flavorful and I appreciated the fact it had just the right amount of salt unlike the majority of the other places I've frequented lately. It was the best burrito I've had in ages. My wife's protein bowl with shrimp met with her satisfaction and happily had a decent quantity of shrimp unlike many other Mexican restaurants we've gone to recently. I ordered the strawberries and cream dessert but was too full to eat it so it will have to wait until later. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. No complaints about service whatsoever. The shopping center has more than enough parking so that isn't an issue. I'm not sure I would visit at night unless you feel safe going into an area with its fair share of troublemakers in the area after dark though. Top Shelf turned out to be just as advertised. I only wish I had tried them much further back in time. I would have made better use of the time I had when I was working in the area.

Out of all the taco places to choose from this is bomb. Authentic. Quick. Delicious. 10/10 lunch to hit the spot.

I've been trying to find the best Taco Tuesday deal in the South Bay for 3 years and I finally found it....can't believe this gem was hidden in Carson this whole time! $1.50 Tacos (Al Pastor, chicken, veggie, carnitas, tripe, & I think Cabeza?) & $3 Beers (modelo, Modelo negra, tecate, dos equis, IPAs, corona). Tacos are HUGE for the price. You can separate each one into TWO normal sizes street tacos. Tripe and cabeza sold out by the afternoon, so try to come as early as possible to try everything! Salsas were all decently spicy, even mild. That creamy green fire is a must. I'll be here every Tuesday for the rest of my lift if anyone wants to join.

We frequent Top Shelf Tacos when we're craving tacos. There are a lot of taco places round here, but we always come back to this place. The staff are super friendly and nice! If you've never been here, they'll take time to explain the items on their menu if you're unsure. There's also a "salad bar" type of of area for condiments like salsas, onions, cilantro, and radish, so you can fill up to your taco's content! We usually get our order to go, but there's a lot of room for you to enjoy your meal there. The vibe is cool!

Stopped for a quick bite before a Galaxy soccer game. We got 3 tacos, Al pastor, asada and carnitas, I personally didn't like them but R did. Maybe my taste buds were off today. We also got the loaded nachos that were tasty. The nachos had everything and the right amount of it too. Would come back for the nachos and a beer.

I'm from San Diego - and we have some Amazon's Mexican food. I am always searching for a yummy cheese quesadilla to fulfill my craving. This place has the best one I've had so far! Thanks for saving me the 2 hour + trip!

The food? Amazing. I could chow down on anything from here daily and never get sick of it. The service? Awesome. They're cool and they have great suggestions and clearly know their menu. In the seating area is a little stale in the vibes area but if you're just interacting with the staff then it's very friendly and overall a great ambiance. Amazing, 10/10, regular eating spot.

I had a team meeting in CarsonAfter the meeting I wanted to take my guys to lunch as a showing of appreciation Top Shelf Tacos had a bunch of great reviews so that is where we decided to goThe smell when you walk in is amazingSuper clean, bright and surprisingly, not too crowded considering it was close to lunchOscar took our order and he was super niceI had the Carne Asada fries! Oh my gosh! They were amazing. Fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned The Carne was perfect and cut into bite size pieces the way I like it. The sauces on top were excellent. Also ordered chips & guacamole to share Good Guac for sureMy guys ordered a shrimp burrito that was HUGE and a wet beef burrito with red sauce. They both looked great and they loved themIt was funny that a couple of us said we needed a nap after our lunch thereIf you are ever near Top Shelf Tacos go see Oscar and he will serve you some amazing Mexican food This may sound racist but it is not meant to be so, if you see the Mexican community eating at a restaurant, you need to go. Seriously, how often do you see Mexicans eating at Taco Bell or Del Taco? I'll tell you, NEVER! It watered down wanna be Mexican food. Not sure it should really be classified as food to be honestThe YI'mYKii IHtIAm HTh

Taco Tuesday is must go here. Tacos are $1.50. It's very clean inside & they have excellent customer service.

I'm so glad I tried this place - the only issue now is the constant craving to return! I have tried the al pastor, carnitas, and asada tacos - all were phenomenal. I love that the tacos come with just the meat on them - and that's really all they need. I often love my tacos loaded with all the toppings for flavor, but this meat is so flavorful that I solely put a pinch of onions and some green hot sauce on them and that's all I need. Great food here without the price tag - and that's hard to come by in LA. And heads up that they do Taco Tuesday - all tacos are $1!It's not a stand-alone restaurant - it's in a strip mall - so there's ample parking. It's very clean and has both indoor and outdoor seating.

Really solid tacos and burritos here. My go-to order are the carne asada fries. The steak is tender and slightly charred. The best thing is that even under all the fixings (cheese, beans, meat guac), the fries stay crispy! The portion is decent for the price too! I love that you can grab your own salsas and garnish-- since the onset of the pandemic, a lot of places don't offer this anymore.

Excellent food! You pay for it for sure, and you can likely find good street food all over in that area, but the service, layout and salsa bar were great!
