Their Eastern European beer selection is fantastic! Which is better, Lithuanian or Ukrainian beer? It might take me 10 years and hundreds of liters to decide, what with all the Polish, Czech, German and Latvian beers confusing my decisions. I really liked the store. Quite large and looks more modern. The selection is larger than other European stores. It also seemed that the prices were lower. A very large selection of dumplings, dumplings, sausages. And this is the first store in the SF Bay Area where they spoke Ukrainian to me.
The only thing is that there are no pastries/chebureks here, but there are cakes and salads.
My pal Pasquale Wong the Rodeo Clown from New Hampshire is here on winter break and wanted to meet me at the European Market Deli for sandwiches. Now, I wouldn't normally drive all the way to Castro Valley from Napa for a free sandwich but when Pasquale said "European Market Deli" I was all in!
