My favorite easy bay park.
I am a day belated in writing this review and apologize to David, Olivia and Thomas. They are models for superior customer service. They are warm, kind, and extraordinarily helpful. I brought my nephews, four of whom recently lost their dad to Lake Chabot for a day of relaxation and memory-making. And boy, did we! thanks to exemplary service and hospitality from David, Olivia and Thomas. When we were done boating, my nephews were super excited to reconnect with Thomas, David, and Olivia to show their gratitude. They kept reminding me of how nice Olivia, Thomas and David are and hoped they would see them again when we return to Lake Chabot. I am so grateful!
A place I’d love to come back to when I have more time — perfect for a peaceful stroll or a relaxed family outing.
Nice picnic area, with fire pits, clean bathrooms, nice trails, fishing, boating, great for getting together.
Scenic destination which boasts many hikes and biking trails, fishing, boat rentals, and a picturesque eating area at the marina cafe. Place to spend quality time with loved ones.
Breif: Man made lake covering about 315-acre Lake Chabot is stocked with trout and catfish. There are also bass, crappie, and other fish.
Nice scenery. There is space for communal events. Only downside is that the lighting is not good in the evening.
❤️ beautiful 😻
Great little cafe, children’s park, kayaks, canoes and paddle boats.
Beautiful location and nice staff here! Easy to enjoy nature here. I recommend rent a boat and hang out here.

Lake Chabot is an insider tip for tourists! We discovered this beautiful recreational area by chance a few years ago and were now happy to go there again for a day trip. On weekends you can take a guided boat tour and learn a lot of interesting things about the Bay Area, as the lake was named after the engineer Chabot, who was instrumental in building the water pipeline system in the Bay Area.
Update October 2024:
Still beautiful here! You can get delicious food in the Marina Café, we loved it!
Multiple fire roads that that will bring you to the back side dam area of the lake from Oakland to the lake in a half an hours walk not known to alot of people. Is a wonderful walk.
