We have not been back here for almost 2 years. Not that we didn't enjoy our first time out, but we travel all over and relish new restaurants and cuisines. Well, things have changed since our last visit.
We came in on a weeknight for dinner. There were no other patrons, just a big guy sitting at a table, where he didn't even acknowledge us when we came in, except to gesture with his head to a table along the wall, and then pointed... never got up.
Another server we recognized from before came over after a bit, and handed us our menus. We made our selections, and he went away.
We were seated along the wall which was spotted with food at the table level that had never been cleaned up.... not appealing.
Food came out and we clearly noticed the quality and flavors have changed pretty dramatically from before (which was right after they had opened with the new owners). Not nearly as good, and quite honestly not even worth reviewing each dish. Flat, boring, and just didn't taste right. Extremely disappointing as we had remembered such great service and food before.
At the end of our meal, the owner came over to our table and all he talked about was being soooo busy with his new business, which is NOT this restaurant. Eye off the ball and down it goes....

Extremely disappointed. I ordered several different dishes, and none of them were good. Don't come here if you don't want to leave angry. I ended up looking for something in my refrigerator. Don't throw your money away.

If you're here for the first time eating Indian food, you'll be disappointed. They don't use authentic paneer, and the food isn't cooked with ghee; it's a horrible oil. The calamati is limp and not crispy at all, and the chicken is dry and undercooked. Don't come if you don't want to be disappointed.

We loved this place...
Went back and it's a whole bunch of people worked I didn't recognize.
Mmk that's fine. I've been waiting to eat.
The dishes were watery (not just consistency but flavor too).
Did you guys change owners and try to save money on ingredients?
... I'm gonna have to give it a second thought on coming back
I'm sad, I gotta find a new Indian food restaurant.

Had an amazing time visiting this Restaurant in the heart of bay area Castro Valley and was absolutely blown away by the service. Food was great flavourful and good portions for the price. The Butter Chicken was exploding with flavours and not too spicy. Overall good experience i recommend visiting if your looking for something new if you have been here before i see no reason why you won’t come back!

Disappointing Experience with the Chicken Biryani

I was really looking forward to trying the chicken biryani from this restaurant, but unfortunately, it was a big letdown. The rice was completely dry and undercooked — it was hard and lacked the softness and flavor you’d expect from a proper biryani. The texture made it really difficult to enjoy the dish. I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I hope this feedback helps the kitchen improve. Quality and consistency matter, and this just didn’t meet the mark.

Extremely disappointed with the food and overall experience. It seems like they don’t know how to properly cook Indian cuisine. I ordered the chicken curry, and what I received looked nothing like an authentic dish. The curry was extremely watery, almost like a thin soup, with barely any chicken pieces in it.

As for the taste — it was completely bland and lacked the rich, bold flavors you’d expect from a good Indian curry. I genuinely couldn’t finish it. Definitely not worth the money, and I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for real Indian food.

This had been our favorite places and I will say the naan and tikka were super good. The roti was hard tac. The server was nice but I did not receive my food. The other three in our party all got drinks and food. We asked after mine 3 separate times but by the time he seemed to make a move to get my dinner the rest of my party was done about 30 minutes from order. I told him to skip my drink as I would not have time to drink it. I asked for my order at this time to be ‘to go’ since the rest of the table was done eating. He then brought me a mango lassi as a gift? I let him know I do not enjoy that but thank you. Please keep in mind there were only two other people in the restaurant so not busy and it was the start of shift. I believe we had two of our drinks removed from the bill but no visit from management to check on the situation. I am disabled this was one of my few nights out I am not sure we will return.
