Really fantastic spot. For $15 my bun bo (beef vermicelli) was stuffed so full the package was bursting. Tons of meat which was extremely well grilled, generous with the veggies and noodles. Both people I dined with loved their banh mi (3 item deal for ~$25 which included the sandwich, great spring rolls, and a Thai tea) and their pho ($13). The whole meal was about $70 for three people including three Thai iced teas. We really loved it!!!! And there’s definitely enough leftovers for an entire extra meal tomorrow.

Food is good but a bit expensive, but I guess it is expensive pretty much anywhere you go eat, really. Service is awesome though and owner is really nice

The egg noodle vermicelli salad was very good. I was a bit shocked to see that their medium size pho came out like the size of a small bowl that I’ve seen in all the other Vietnamese restaurants. The crab Rangoon had good flavor, but the exterior was hard, chewy and wrapping undercooked.

This place is great. Chicken Pho was so good. Chicken Banh Mi was delicious. Service is very friendly and accommodating. The place is clean and well organized. Now, food is very good - hands down.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of parking in the back and close to the bakery for dessert.

Been coming here since it opened. The owners are great people and always provide excellent service. My favorite items are the rice plates, and pork Bahn mi. I always get a fried egg add on to both, delicious. The chicken salad is also excellent, everything is fresh and made with care. I am so happy to see how the menu has expanded over time. A+ restaurant

Great solid Pho spot in CV. Just moved here, and wanted to find an affordable, great tasting Pho spot and here we are. Awesome service, super flexible in what you want, and even dog friendly on the outside patio. This will definitely be my go to spot in the future! Also, as someone who typically orders the large in any pho place, get the medium, it's perfect.

We love the rice plates, Vermicelli Noodle Plate, Egg Rolls and now pork banh mi. It's a frequent favorite for that something different you're looking for at dinner or lunch. Friendly employees and helpful with suggestions on exploring the menu. Parking can be tricky at certain times of the day, especially towards the evening, crowds flock the area. Indoor and outdoor dining available. Great atmosphere.

Wend's cafe is my favorite recovery food spot in Castro Valley. It is located next to the Castro Valley Market place with a lot of parking space in the back. The restaurant is very clean and the customer service is always great. I've come here so often that I sometimes feel like the owners are now distant relatives. The Pho is fairly priced and the large is hella big. The best part about wend's is their beverages. I love their Vietnamese coffee and Thai tea so much that it's the perfect way to reward my employees during a busy work day. It is really authentic and will give you a huge energy boost. Be cautious that Vietnamese coffee is not your average cup of Joe. It is really really strong and if you're tired, you will probably have a hard time sleeping but the way they make it here is perfect. It's not bitter and it's not too sweet. If you can't handle coffee, their Thai tea is a great alternative. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do. This place is a hidden gem.

The service was awesome we walked in 10 min before closing and they were happy to seat us. It was a party of 10 so it was going to be a lot of work but they did a great job. Food was great and the portions they give you are extremely generous. You ask for a medium bowl and they give you a bowl that looks like it's for a family of 4. Give it a try.

Solid contender, with a really hardy and packed combination vermicelli bowl with fried shrimp with breading, and imperial rolls. Centrally located in downtown Castro valley, with a really nice staff that checked on me several times to make sure that I was enjoying my meal. I recommend!
