I do not understand how this place has as many good reviews as they have serving the food they do.
Being Korean, this is not what Korean food should taste like. Korean food should be bright, fresh, and flavorful. This is the opposite of that.
The tteokbokki was dark and overly salty. Salt does not translate to flavor. The vegetables looked old and dead. No color. NOT fresh. Gochujang is bright red, not brown. Probably poured a bunch of soy sauce in it. The mandu (dumplings) were over fried and hard. No sauce. Pre made obviously. The doenjang jjigae again, overly salty, barely any vegetables, barely anything in it at all, and the bean paste tastes old / too dark.
Okay service, no ambience, but the food was not good.

My sister and I went to Kpop Foodz on a Tuesday. I had been there before really liking how the vibe and the Kpop videos being played while eating my meal. The server was really friendly and helpful. This subsequent visit, everything was fresh and tasty. I wasn’t very hungry so I had a bulgogi Gimbap and my sister had Bimbimbap which was massive and tasty especially with the gochugang sauce. I had a bit of everything and washed it down with a tasty Terra beer (something light, crisp, and flavorful). Whenever I’m in town, I always consider Kpop.

My son wanted Ramen and there are a few places around Palm Springs that have Ramen, but the rest of the family wanted something else but Asian was OK. I was very surprised and This place is FANTASTIC!!!! We all had different items and every single one of us loved our meals. We had also had a fried dumpling appetizer and one desert that we all shared. The Korean Sweet Pancake with vanilla ice cream (Hotteok) deserves Michelin Star!!! No Joke.
Highly Recommend this place and we will be back, the next time we are in town.

What a great Korean restaurant! This small Korean restaurant serves real Korean street foods. We had Bibimpap, Tteokbokki with cheese, and Pork and tofu Kimchijjigae. Everything was great 👍 and enough for next day or two. Service was great and Owner/Chef is super nice. Highly recommend 👌

Restaurantji Recommends
Overrated and disappointing.
Kimbap was mushy and sticky felt like it was made with rice that had too much water. There was way too much rice compared to the fillings. It honestly felt like we were just eating seaweed and undercooked rice. Not worth almost $10 after tax.
The donkatsu with curry was even worse. The pork was small, thin. The curry tasted powdery and undercooked. super runny, with just a few chunks of carrot and potato. Flavorless and lazy.
Everything is overpriced for the portion and quality.
As a Korean, I wouldn’t call this place authentic.
Only decent dish was the kimchi fried rice, but even that was overly salty and heavy on gochujang.
I've run a successful restaurant before I know what I’m talking about.
Service was okay.

Vibe was nice with K-pop playing in the background. Food is incredible and portion sizes are out of this world. We ordered 2 dishes and it was enough for us for 2 meals. Out of the weekend trip here, we spent the least amount of money here and enjoyed the food the most. The owner is INCREDIBLE and personally came out or the kitchen to ask how the meal was. We will be back and recommend it to everyone.

We ordered Bibimbap, spicy beef ramen, and tofu salad. Everything we had was delicious and big portions!
Their Kimchi had great flavor and crunch, I would totally buy jars of it if they offered!
