We've been visiting Cayucos at least once a year for the past 6 years and when we're in town we always eat at Schooners! Everything we've eaten is delicious, the cocktails are great, and the service is always super friendly. A few years ago I saw dolphins in the wild for the first time in my life through the window while enjoying a drink at the Schooners bar, a memory I'll never forget! Last night we celebrated our anniversary at Schooners and we each ordered lobster dinners that were fantastic!! I really LOVE their potato croquetts. We ended the evening with their famous Cayookie dessert, couldn't have asked for a better meal! They tend to be popular and you might have to put your name on the list to get a table but it's worth the wait! We look forward to returning again and again!

Food was not good. its a bar but the menu reads elevated. the food we received was terrible. the waitress was great. great view. it was worth a try but not for those prices.

A dog-friendly restaurant, but guests with pets must stay downstairs on the brick patio. No problem with that...but the servers also work upstairs, so getting their attention to order food, drinks or refills, was challenging. We came in early evening and only one other table had customers. It took almost 15 minutes after ordering to get our drinks and the ice was melted in one drink and the other was a martini, lukewarm. Dinner was also slow in arriving and then we didn't get to order drink refills before we finished our food because our server never checked back. Clam chowder was chock full of clams; calamari was just okay. We give the food a 3, the service a 2.

Cayucos is one of our favorite central coast towns in California. It has a wide main street which follows the coastline and offers a nice selection of shops and establishments. Schooner's is our favorite dining place and it seems to be a favorite of the locals also. That is always a good sign to me. Decorated and designed in a wharf/ship maritime style is has seating inside and outside. We chose upstairs which has nice views of the beach and ocean. The upstairs bar is inside, has the same views and is warmer with booth or bar seating. There is a full bar which provides many drink options. Most of the bar stools and spots have brass name plates making this definitely a local's watering hole with a good vibe to it. The service was good as was the food. We enjoyed a calamari strips and chips plate along with a clam chowder bread bowl and salad. The chowder was very good with generous portion of tender chunks of clam in a thick white sauce. The calamari strips were tender, thick and lightly battered. Pries are moderate. We enjoyed our visit and the food.

Great lunch August 21, 2025. We sat outside upstairs with a good ocean view. We ordered burgers, fries, onion rings and soda. Everything was tasty. Our server was polite and helpful. The restrooms were clean and tidy.
