Misleading on the price list. It doesn't list how much the Schmears are

I want to love them so bad but they are so inconsistent. They up charged for the asiago cheese, but barely put any on the bagels.

I went in shortly after open today and grabbed an asiago bagel with cream cheese.
The customer service was quick and polite, the bagel was made quickly, and the bagel itself was fresh and fluffy.
Its a great place to grab breakfast on the way to work or class.
This used to be my favorite place to eat.
The bagels are dense and flat. They also lack flavor & give a chewy texture like it's been microwaved. Paid for Added potatoes and there was hardly any at all. They tasted like bagged bland frozen potato. Rather than the large chunks that used to run through the sandwich with flavor.
Overall still disappointed and I've tried to give them SEVERAL chances since the owner change.
Used to come here during my undergrad at Chico State. I absolutely loved this place! The most authentic bagels and the best cream cheese. Literally 5 stars.
5 years later , a new owner and I can't believe the quality of this place has gone down. They say they have the same recipe but the bagels are crap and so thin. The bagels used to be thick. They said they use the same bagel recipe but I highly doubt it, they're probably cutting corners somewhere . The cream cheese is watery, it shouldn't even be classified as cream cheese. They put very little cream cheese on my bagel but it managed to make my bagel soggy. What kind of cream cheese does that? It was more like a sauce.
My suggestion is if you're going to keep the name Brooklyn Bridge Bagel Works, maybe go to Brooklyn NY and eat a bagel, because this was disgraceful.
The service was not great. The woman who took my order didn't greet me and seemed to have an attitude with other customers .
The place was ok, they remodeled recently. They wanted to go for a more modern vibe, but honestly I would've focused more on the quality of the food than ambience.
I wish I could have spent my 7 dollars towards a plane ticket to Brooklyn.
*edit: after reading the comments of other patrons and the replies from Brooklyn Bagel to those patrons , it seems like instead of trying to reflect on their product, they’re just deflecting. I hope they see the error of their ways. Bless them.

I got a dozen bagels and it took 15 minutes to bag them.
Just to get them to my work and find out they're not bagels. It's bread baked in the shape of a bagel. Great bread but not a bagel

Another menu change with the new veggie breakfast sandwich being a terrible attempt at cost cutting, and I didn't even get the bagel I ordered nor did the guy write down the right name which I repeated my order, bagel, and name several times. Ultimately this has become a shell of it's former self and is just a soulless cash grab at this point. Go to Mondo's they still have a full sandwich for a decent price

Open when you say you are going to be open. Nothing more annoying than going somewhere before work and then having to find another place fast. This place just isn't what it used to be.
In seeing responses here, I understand the owner cares, and it’s true that the bagels are authentic, it’s THE place to go for a bagel.
I also understand, just like in owners responses, that the remodel was necessary, and I have no complaints there.
service is “reasonable”, though it does leave one wanting some sort of *feeling* in speaking with workers, that tends to be overall provided mostly elsewhere, in this what we feel, is an awesome town.
— We have a “small town feeling” here, and I’m sure the staff have lives outside of their work hours, but they do seem a little impersonal, and when we ask for help on a bagel that’s lacking, they WILL actually charge us for the SMALLEST ask. -No, it was a complaint, because it was so noticeable, in the experience.
For example, I had to ask for more smear last time we were eating at location, and the register worker was going to CHARGE ME, when the point I was making was, I didn’t WANT to complain about the quality, but had to, in order to even be able to swallow the very dry bagel I was trying to eat.
—I actually watched the worker spreading the smear, putting on a decent amount, only to proceed to CAREFULLY spread, it, OFF (!?)
-This time, we ordered from home,
because, again, they are THE place you go to for authenticity, and we have over 5 years going with them. Sadly, the difference in lack of cream cheese, it is NOTABLE.
Sorry, but there’s no real reason to do this to hungry people that are devoted, and understand why prices are so high. That’s understood. Raise the prices because you have to, but making wonderful bagels absolutely dry, and still charging us as if you’re making them properly is wrong . Because the dude was paying very close attention to what he was doing, which was as I said, literally removing the cream cheese off of the sandwich, and is just outright not ok.
The main issue is, I remember, like it was yesterday, what enough cream cheese smear on a 15 dollar snack sized breakfast bagel for 2, should be like, and you’re training your staff to intentionally withhold the quality and quantity, of what your people ARE paying you for, and that NOT cool.

Restaurantji Recommends
I hate to leave bad reviews but this place is disappointing. Ever since the remodel, the life has been sucked out of this place. It used to be a wonderful homage to Brooklyn, New York and baseball. The place felt personalized and cozy, perfect for this town. Now it has this minimalistic design with painted tile floors, of which are flaking off. The food quality has gone severely down, tasting like everything has been heated up in a microwave, having this soggy feel. The price has gone way up as well. A sesame bagel with light cream cheese, no toppings, was $6?????? I also added an orange juice and this took the total to $15? What? How is a bagel with no toppings and orange juice $15? I can't recommend that anyone spends their money here until something drastic changes, sorry.

The Bagels are to dense, missing that bagel taste and texture. The cream cheese has some kind of creamer mixed into it and lacked that cream cheese flavor.
As for the actual store, everything was dirty.
As for the actual aesthetic, it was so dark in this shop it was depressing.
In a nutshell this place left a lot of desire from a place that names It self after one of the bagels capitals of the world. Bold.

New owners have made it just like every other “hipster” shop in town. Quality has definitely gone down, and always seem to be low on inventory early

Says they close at 3 and rudely denies you at 2:10. Probably should hire more friendly people . 😊😊
