It used to be pretty good. I loved the pumpkin chocolate chip. After new management, they really changed things for the worst. I hope they figure their stuff out because I definitely won't be buying anything from them anytime soon.

Esplanade location: I have noticed a significant decline in the quality of service at this location. Today 3 employees failed to greet or acknowledge me. I called in my order and gave them ample time. It was also well after the lunch rush. only 5 customers were in the restaurant (they all were seated eating). No one in line. I didn’t receive a hello I’ll be with you shortly. Nothing. I waited for a bit . I only received a response after I said hello . And the response was less than friendly. I was a bother. How dare I ask for my phone order. While I understand delays during busy periods, it is unacceptable to be ignored in an empty shop.

Historically I have always ordered ahead due to long wait times. I have made the mistake these last two visits not to call ahead. Unfortunately, both times I waited over 15 minutes for my food. Today specifically- I ordered and took a walk to CVS. When I got back my sandwich had not even been started, 20 minutes after my initial order had been placed. The sandwich had not even been started. Within 5 minutes my sandwich was handed to me and without specific toppings requested that do not normally come on the sandwich. I had to go back in. I politely asked the person at the front to please get a side of the missing toppings. She was got an attitude and stated she is busy with a customer and that I need to wait. I responded by telling her I have waited long enough for a cold sandwich. She then proceeds to get louder stating what she could do, get someone else, but that she is busy with a customer in front of her. She then proceeds to turn to her coworker to ask for the items and then turns to me to continue to stick her foot in her mouth by saying “ with thought it said NO of the topping” I choose not respond. It seems as a customers time is not valuable. Equally- I question the quality of the Cooked bacon as they prepped the sandwich in less than 5 minutes and clearly details are not paid attention to despite being written clearly and by a staff member. I hope I do not continue to receive this type of service in the future.

My salads weren’t terrible but I could have certainly purchased one for half the price that actually came with dressing. I got home (30 minutes away) only to realize that no dressing was included on a lack luster salad, purchased the chicken bacon ranch and chicken Cesar, an hour ahead while I went to an appointment so, no rush order or anything. Probably won’t be back.

Esplanade Great Harvest has gone downhill since 2 months ago or so. Too many new, unexperienced employees and no apparent manager. Inconsistent portions and burned paninis too.

I had accidentally ripped my stamp card in half because it was in between two of my receipts in my wallet they I no longer needed.

The young man said he couldn’t accept my stamp card for my free loaf.

Used to love this place would go all the time growing up. Spent 30 dollars on wilted lettuce didn’t even give me the right bread. Super disappointed ☹️

Fun place to meet with friends, and eat healthy, or not, as you choose! They have delicious bread loaves of all kinds you can buy, and bakery treats galore! Not to mention, service with a smile!

Great food but a little too expensive. I like to buy their dog 🐕 biscuits and fabulous cookies 🍪

Never again going to GREAT HARVEST on Esplanade next to East Lassen; in my life again, EVER. I have never experienced such a horrible experience at a BREAD place. & if you know me personally, I’m a really nice person unless you do something to ME. Anyway, they’re extremely rude and I will never ever go back to that place. Ever. Makes me sick even thinking about the guy who treated me and my bf so badly 🥹🩵 now relaxing with my man and watching a movie at home. F*ck that dude fr 😤😤 Great Harvest Bread Chico ‼️😭🤯🤬

The ordering process was something new to experience! Food was great- but what caught my attention was the service. My card had an error, so I had paid cash instead, but the manager came up and did everything they could to help accommodate my issue quickly and with kindness and grace. It's rare to see such good quality service these days! Thank you!

I popped into Great Harvest for the first time today! For being about 12:30 on a Friday, I was surprised at how empty the place was. There were two baskets by the door with clipboards, one for salads and one for sandwiches. The clipboards for sandwiches were gone, despite only one other person ahead of me, so I had to wait to start ticking off my order. Once I brought my completed form to the register, I paid and waited less than 5 mins to receive my order. The good? The bread was super fresh! The minor bummer? There were no options for rolls, sliced bread only, and no option to toast the sliced bread. This is a bakery that offers lunch options; I think I prefer my sammies from a true deli, with fresh sliced meat piled high. At $13.75 for Pastrami & Swiss on sourdough, I would have expected a bit more bulk. I would consider Great Harvest in the future for baked goods, but likely go elsewhere for a sandwich.

I had a very unfortunate experience today. My daughter came home sick so I decided to pick up lunch. Chicken soup for her. After ordering I decided to make a second order of lemonade and dessert. My first order was delivered and placed on the table in front of me. While waiting on my second order I noticed the soup had leaked all over the other food and into the bag. I asked a worker for a new bag to switch my food out. She nicely offered to make me a new order. I declined the new food saying the food looked fine and I didn’t want to waste it so I just needed a new bag. She was very nice and re-bagged my food and gave me a fresh soup. When I got home the soup was all over my food again. The bag she had put the soup in was upright but the soup container was on its side and opened. Now my food was wet again and my daughter had noodles to eat instead of soup. Being frustrated I called to let them know it happened again. Instead of being understanding. I was scolded for not carrying the bag correctly and he was 100% sure the worker handed me the bag upright. I tried to explain that the bag was right but the soup container was on its side. He kept saying I was wrong and was very aggressive and insinuating I wanted free food. I told him I never asked for free food and even asked to have my original order even though it had been wet. He kind of apologized but his tone and rude aggressive behavior continued. He asked if I wanted a refund so at this point even more frustrated I agreed to the refund. He asked for my card number and when I didn’t have the number quickly he snapped at me saying he needed the card number to refund the money. He was incredibly rude and I am so disappointed with the customer service.
