If you are not intimately familiar with this place and a regular patient, then basically I don’t know what you are doing with your life. Carlos makes incredibly good food, the portions are solid, the drinks are delicious and not a rip off, the bartenders are nice and fun, it’s just a great place. That said, the new hours for the rest of the summer are killing me. I repeat, killing me.

Tried Panama Bar and Cafe for the first time Friday night, kicking off Restaurant Week in Chico. Were a bit put-off to find only a barebones patio (inside dining evidently under construction but hostess told us it wouldn't be done for another year) Several small tables. Very minimal, but clean. But the food made up for the poor first impression. We ordered the$20 chicken piccata to split between the two of us. The waitress kindly split the accompanying Caesar salad and divided the entree into two good sized heated dinner plates. Most delicious food we've had eating out in Chico for a dozen years. The chicken breast was served in lemon and caper sauce accompanied by delicious pasta primavera. It was plenty for our nonagenarian palates. Would encourage all you other elders to overlook the rudimentary setting and try this amazing cooking.

The daily drink specials are fantastic. The food is good too. Panamas is a Chico landmark and is worth the stop. I'm only giving it 4 stars because it is currently under renovation.

The bartender was absolutely unprofessional. I went in to retrieve a phone that was left and I was on the phone with the phone owner and she repeatly told me that I was annoying her over just asking a few questions. Even though she knew the circumstances she told me to hang up my f-ing phone because "I was giving her a headache" I have never been there and will absolutely never return . And the staff there seemed to enjoy her rudeness and didn't do anything. She seemed to be high on something and very irritated over a phone that they told me to come get. It would of taken 5 minutes but instead I sat in my car for over an hour waiting for them to return it because "they had better things to do" . Disgraceful.

They charge you 5$ to go hit vape outside and come back in, there is no other option, the bar is always dead and medicore and now there is no valid reason to go here over anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and never go here.

Great service tell the bartender girl with glasses I say hi from Sacramento- I had three drinks there all delicious yet I haven't drank there since I was 21 and I'm 31 and cannot handle GIN! The drinks r cheap but I can no longer handle well drinks . I can't do too much GIN and I have to do top shelf if I'm planning to get buzzed or drunk. One of the ingredients was GIN and I didn't read the fine print till I was drunk from my third drink and it said gin Included ! Ooooops - great buzz but I fell I'll and eventually vomited. The red Manhattan clam chowder w garlic bread hit the spot. Very nice service polite people the tall young man with black curly hair is cute

We had a great time at panamas until the bouncer Jermaine starting talking about drugging a friend and getting his way then my friend flips him off and he proceeds to follow her out saying he has "freedom of speech", when a friend comes up asking why he denies the conversation then kicks her out as well. The bartenders asked if we were okay and told us he treats the coworkers like that too. The bartenders apologized and were so nice to us and we appreciate them. But the bouncers are rude as f**** Fire Jermaine rape is not something to be joked about. Very unprofessional.
