Family-owned, very small, tucked secretly inside a tiny strip mall, behind a staircase, in the dark corner. Surprisingly busy when we arrived in a mid-Sunday afternoon! Not the most mind-blowing bowl of phở, (coming from the San José area as we were) but there’s no such thing as a bad bowl of phở, & we appreciated having the option for a hot, fresh-made bowl so close to campus & downtown during our visit! Tiny menu—just the usual typical phở options, & 2 choices of bánh mỳ, at extremely reasonable prices. Friendly service from the family. Cảm ơn nhiều!!
Food is good, but these people lost a customer. We called on 4/19/2025 and got verbal confirmation they would be open on Easter. We drive all the way from the other side of Chico and this restaurant puts a note on the door saying they are closed for Easter. We'd rather have been told they'd be closed instead of wasting gas. Vietnam Bistro is the way to go instead
Great pho 🩷
Great pho! Soup was very tasty! Would love to have the soup a little hotter, but otherwise definitely the best in town.
I recently discovered this place. I like that it's strictly a Pho place unlike other places where they offer other items on the menu. It's the best Pho place I've been to so far. The broth is different and they are generous with the meat portions. In fact, they already know me and my friend that when we order, we simply say the usual..
This place took me way too long to find.
The pho is amazing especially if you want to sit down for it. The bahn mi are amazing for somethinq quick to go.
I arrived as they were about to close. They were nice enough to take my order and allow us to eat inside. The Pho w/Chicken hit the spot and was delicious.
Food was great
What a hole in the wall! The Pho is definitely delicious, the spring rolls are just as tasty! Thank you for your delicious food!

I was told Pho Bonsa has the most authentic Pho noodle soup in the small town of Chico and I can’t wait to try it out.
I live an hour away from the restaurant, but I am looking forward and willing to drive out of town for good food.
Great job, they work very hard and make the most authentic pho to serve the small town in Chico.
we must support great restaurants like this to keep the business in the area.
GREAT food and GREAT staff, highly recommend this restaurant if you are in chico!
I don’t ask for or expect much at non-vegan places in this town, so something clearly labeled vegan is much appreciated and enjoyed. I ordered their vegan pho and noticed (in a good way) that my order came out separately and after a regular, non-vegan order of pho was served at a separate table. The broth was satisfying and the tofu was expertly fried (I’m sure you could ask for steamed tofu if you wanted). The standard tableside add-ins of Thai basil, bean sprouts, jalapeño slices, and lime wedge were brought out with the pho. The portion size was generous and there were condiments at the table for you to choose from. Would definitely order again. Though the address is Salem Street, access is from the CSUC/public parking lot.
Delicious food. Great service. Awesome location.
They have really gotten it together lately. Even added a delicious Bahn Mi to the menu. I highly recommend the Pho as well.
