My husband & I went to eat at the Rice Bowl for lunch and after we ordered our drinks and looked at the menu. And after we were served our drinks, the waitress came to take our order and when we ordered M-F Lunch Specials she told us "my manager from the other store just called and said we're not having lunch specials because it's a holiday". It's Valentine's Day and we were there at 11:30am, not like we're on a romantic dinner date. No one mentioned this fact when we were seated, they mentioned this AFTER WE ORDERED Lunch Specials. BOGUS BULL CRAP! We walked out and went down the street to Happy Garden and absolutely enjoyed our Lunch Specials and the friendliness of the wait staff.
**We order GrubHub from Rice Bowl at least 10 times a year but NEVER AGAIN!

I've been to rice bowl many times throughout the last decade in chico and I'm happy to say it's finally on its way back up. They always have good enough food, the last few years it seemed like it had kind of gone down hill because it wasn't as clean and the staff seemed unhappy but we always came back for the food. This time I'm happy to say they have started updating the interior, its clean and you can tell they are trying. Food was just a little bit different, maybe new owners or a different cook but the waitress was nice, the restaurant looked great and the food was good.

I've been here more than a handful of times over the years and I've never had a bad experience, either with take out or dine-in. The food has always been consistently delicious, distinct in flavor and never undercooked or overcooked. The service is always friendly and timely, and the atmosphere feels so homey yet classy.
I would love to always make this restaurant my option for Chinese and Japanese cuisine.

This is the second time I received reheated food in this place. Few weeks ago, I ordered chicken curry and today I ordered chicken chowmein both were reheated . I still felt colder chownein deeper on the plate. The discoloration of noodles was another sign . I was not able to eat it. I told waitress about it. She said she convey my message to crew however nothing happened. I don’t think I want to go back to this place anymore

The Rice Bowl use to be my favorite Chinese restaurant. The food was always delicious. Not anymore. The sesame chicken was dry and bland. The teriyaki salmon was also bland. The spicy tuna roll was okay at best. I guess the new owners got rid of the chefs. What a shame.

I had a wonderful visit at rice bowl with my friend, we had drinks and some appetizers and it was all amazing, my friend ordered the broccoli and mushrooms, huge portions and so much flavor, there was a few more vegetables in it too overall we both had a great time and will be back very soon :)

The food took a long time to come out of the kitchen. The wait staffed was very apologetic for the many inconveniences that usually occur here. The restaurant seems to struggle with quality control and management standards. The food during my experience was 6/10. Definitely consider all your opinions before coming here.

Tonight, I went for dinner to the Rice Bowl and I will never return. I ordered the salt and pepper squid as an appetizer as soon as I sat down along with the potstickers before I ordered my entree'. However, the salt and pepper squid came after the entree. The dish was deep fried, greasy and tasteless. They were big blobs of batter. I took one bite and returned the dish immediately. The waitress was accomodating, and said she would return it and take if off my bill. However, another waitress who was hovering over her heard the conversation, fussed at her and followed her to the kitchen. My waitress then came back with the dish (that I did not want) and said that the owner said he would take half off the bill. I told the waitress to forget it; I would pay the bill because obviously the owner was trying to make me out to be a grifter and did not value my business. I told her to still take the dish back because it was not edible. The dish was only $12. This was about poor service and not valuing me as a customer. My bill totaled $46. I still tipped the poor waitress because it was not her fault, but the overbearing supervisor/owner that was hovering over her was too much. I will NEVER go there again. I hope the $12 was worth it. If your profit margins are so low that you cannot absorb a 12 dollar loss, then there's something wrong. That goodwill gesture would have garnered my return business. I am a repeat customer. I drove from Paradise to eat at your establishment. Never again.

Food is decent but you do not get rice with your meal. $65 dollars worth of food and no rice. I've NEVER been to any Chinese food restaurant and been served a meal (pricey meal at that) with no white rice.
