One of the Worst Dining Experiences of My Life

What a pathetic experience! I truly feel like I wasted part of my life by coming to this restaurant. Let me start from the beginning.

I came here for lunch after seeing their reviews online. But after arriving, I realized those reviews must be fake — nothing matched what was promised.

I ordered the Fish Pakora, which was absolutely disgusting. It smelled so bad it was as if a live fish was rotting on the plate. It was completely inedible.

Next, I ordered the Chicken Biryani, and that too was a disaster. The taste was awful, almost like spoiled food. It was served extremely hot, likely to mask how bad it really was. I couldn’t eat more than a few bites.

I strongly urge the Food Safety Authorities to visit this restaurant and take serious action. The food is not just nasty — it’s a health risk.

Wow! Just WOW!!! We had dinner there on Father's Day and we are so glad we did. My son ordered the Butter Chicken and it was absolutely amazing. The Samosas were huge and scoop flavorful! If you're looking for a true gem, look no further. We will be visiting again!

Had a beautiful experience at Sofiz for Father’s Day. The atmosphere was warm, unique and beautiful. Sofi is lively and welcoming, and the food was delicious and full of flavor! I will definitely be coming back. Great experience overall!

The environment and decorations are as lively and flavorful as the food that is served! Lots of delicious Pakistani foods with creative twists created by the sweetest chef and host, Sofia herself

went to Sofi’z with my uncle and brother, and it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. I ordered the goat hoof paya curry, which was rich and flavorful—Sofi even gave me a great tip to soak the naan in the curry for the full experience. My brother got the ruby chicken, and my uncle had the butter chicken

My brother casually asked if they had baklava, even though it wasn’t on the menu, and Sofi surprised us by bringing some out! She even showed us two more off-menu desserts, and we ended up buying a portion of each.

Sofi is not only a talented cook but also a really inspiring person. She’s been in the U.S. just a few years, is studying at Butte College, and has plans to open a bakery and go to law school in the near future. Very cool and super welcoming

Sofi'z is amazing! Her food is incredible, her atmosphere is fun, and she's a phenomenal host who cares about her community and donates food frequently to Chico schools. I would absolutely eat here again. I recommend the samosas, they're divine.

I work in the food service industry repairing commercial appliances, and I'm asked all the time to recommend places. Sadly, I don't recommend very many. This is one of the few I'd recommend. Honestly, I never thought I'd be able to say this, but Sofi'z is the best meal I've ever had. Everybody owes it to themselves to go here. The atmosphere, staff, owner, and of course the FOOD all 5+ Stars.

My family tried Sofi's for an early Mother's Day dinner. The decor and atmosphere couldn't be more perfect for a mom's day meal with all the gorgeous pink flowers everywhere. We ordered samosas as an appetizer and they were to die for! Then, my husband and son ordered lamb shank and butter chicken and I asked Sofi to recommend something for me. I ordered the ruby chicken as she suggested and was just so very happy with the whole meal and experience. We will be back soon to try the goat and to enjoy Sofi'z wonderful company.

I have requested food from Sofiz kitchen and bar through door dash many times and I have been delighted with the flavors ans the freshness of their food. Today, my husband and I were there in person and we were nicely surprised by the decoration, the bright colors, the incense, but overall by the warmth of the owner and her staff. The place is beautiful and cozy, the music is exquisite and the TVs show relaxing views from different world sites. The place is spotless and customer attention is excellent. I highly recommend it.

Such an adorable little restaurant. It’s like nothing our little town has ever had & I’m so grateful for it! The service is great. The owner is such a special lady, I could listen to her for hours. She made me feel right at home and is happy to answer any questions about the menu you may have. It’s also clearly labeled for gf, vegan and vegetarian which I so appreciate. So many options! I think they’ve expanded their menu since the last time I went too. The atmosphere is beautiful. The food is so tasty. I order something new each time I go and each time I’m blown away by the flavors of each dish. I’ve been known to order her rice to go when I’m feeling under the weather and want some comfort take out too. I’ve been four times now and if it weren’t for the location I’d probably go more often, it’s in a beautiful spot but it’s not always easy to park downtown these days. Make sure you support our community and the people in it! Eat local. Shop local. Help little Poppy pay her bills 🦜 🤣💗 Thank you, Sofi for the atmosphere, the warm welcome and filling our bellies with such delicious food.

The owner of this place works so hard to make sure that every customer has a great experience! I have literally never had an issue or bad visit here and I've come by a good amount of times. Something else that I love about this owner is that she cares about the people of Chico and she cares about our city. This place is an absolute MUST try!
