Common Theory Chula Vista Reviews
No chicken in my cowboy salad just lettuce.
Outstanding venue. First time visiting the establishment for lunch with some co-workers and I will be back for a more social setting!
We had lunch with my wife today at this place, and let me tell you, the food was amazing, the place looks great on the inside ( can’t talk much about the atmosphere, because we literally show up almost as soon as they opened for the day so it was empty), but the food ( once again) is to die for, not lie, so so good. Very impressed! 10/10 I’ll recommend it.

Common Theory Chula Vista is a must-visit restaurant with amazing food and service. The flavors are insane, especially the wagu burger and Buffalo cauliflower. The place is clean, nicely decorated, and always shows sports games. One reviewer noted that the restaurant offers a unique Korean-Chinese-Mexican-American inspired twist, with a great selection of local craft beer and wine. The pancit bihon, kimchi fried rice, and chicken katsu were highlights, along with the heavenly banana milk pudding for dessert.
The atmosphere is welcoming and family-friendly, with customers enjoying the lively environment, even if the acoustics can be loud. Even though one reviewer docked a star for the lack of a speakeasy, they still found it a great addition to the area, noting the restaurant might be challenging to find without GPS. The staff is friendly and professional, with one family expressing their love for the great customer service that keeps them returning. Overall, Common Theory Chula Vista is a place where delicious food and a fun atmosphere come together.
The gastropub experience is outstanding with an eclectic Asian-inspired menu that shines with bold flavors. The Szechuan spicy chicken sandwich and kimchi fried rice hit all the right notes. An impressive rotating selection of 30 local craft beers is available. The vibe is warm and inclusive, blending Korean-Chinese-Mexican-American influences. Service is spot-on, even on a bustling evening. The Pork Sisig Bowl and Bulgogi Bowl were tried, with the pork cut into nice mini chunky bite sizes and the beef tender and mild. The Best Burger with Onion Ring and Coleslaw was delish, and the Chicken Sando was super delish, with the chicken breast being one of the most tender. The Scottish Salmon with Beer-Battered Fries and Coleslaw was delish. Ube pancakes with chicken were pretty good. Happy hour specials are a highlight.
