This unassuming establishment literally transports you to the wild west as soon as you enter. Everything from ceiling to floor is beautifully decorated!
We came for breakfast and you can tell a place is popular because there were already 2-3 other parties that got here as soon as it opened which is 8am! By 8:50AM, it was almost 95% full!
This is what we ordered:
-El Prieto Omelet (asada, camaron, chile california, queso, salsa chipotle and aguacate)
-Huevos Rancheros
-Chilaquiles Compadres (chilaquil verde y rojo con asada y pollo gratinados)
-Mole Enchilada
-Cafe de Olla
First of all, EVERYTHING we tried is phenomenal. Before you even order, you're given a basket with delicious Mexican pastries like conchas. I'm not exaggerating when I say that was one of the best conchas ive eaten.
Everything else had sooo much flavor.
The service is impeccable! You'll never run out of hot coffee because they make several rounds to ensure your cup is full.
Beautiful decor, amazing service, and delicious food! I am definitely coming back to this hidden gem!

EXCELLENT authentic mexican food and great customer service! The minute you arrive you're greated with a smile and a level of attentiveness you don't see anywhere. Prepare for extremely long wait times, but the hospitality and authentic homemade food is DEFINITELY worth the wait! To start, they bring out warm in-house complimentary mexican bread. The selection of natural drinks was impressive. The menudo, birria, Chile rellenos, and quesabirria were all TO DIE FOR!! After you pay, they bring out a delicious variety of complimentary desserts. Yes, complimentary! They were very tasty! Did I mention the owner came over to check on us? Talk about first class HOSPITALITY!!! I highly recommend you eat here. If you don't like long waits, visit during the week.

Had breakfast today at 10a. Love the cute pan dulce they give before your meal. Food was great! Only down fall was the bar section was no circulating air and muggy, was noisy and my menudo condiments was a bit of an issue, had to ask for them a couple times. I would go back maybe earlier in the morning. Cafe de olla was on point :)

Heads up for my kind
Was not welcomed here, the greeter and waitress only spoke to my friend, maybe because I don't look like l can speak Spanish. I believe the one star comments, poor service and ok food, waitress forgot all about my drink, but gave me the bill
Had to constantly ask for water
Did not want to service me, should have left right away
Not worth sitting in a hot room for ok food and poor service
No idea why it says on google that the close at 11 when they close at 6 pm makes no sense. People inside and not a single worker comes out to help

First time here and experience was amazing. Portions are amazing for the price. Aguas frescas are outstanding and they serve them in a huge glass cups. Food was as expected, big portion, lots of flavor and fast to come out. Will come back and maybe even make it my new spot. Thank you for this amazing place, we will come back. Oh and forgot to mention their in house made desserts those are 100/10!!

Food is really good, everyone’s super friendly, and it ain’t stupid expensive. Pretty reasonable considering the portions are huge. Definitely recommend if you’re tired of bad Mexican food, this is closer to my tias than a lot of places I’ve tried.

For two people ranges 38 dollars to 100 depending on what you guys get. Do not be discouraged by the location in Chula Vista. Upon pulling up you are greeted by friendly service and and extremely clean and warm, comfy environment. I am used to taco shops, but have now been twice to this location in 3 weeks. Upon entering you feel transported to Mexico (I've been to Tecate and Tijuana) This is more of a Tecate feel. The interior decor is so nice its worthy of a date. Everything, I mean everything even the shells are homemade. I'm tired of powdered horchata, but this place literally had such quality Horchata that alone almost has me going back. The entire meal is authentic to Mexico in how you dress it with all the sides, of Cilantro, onion, oregano and spice sauces. They bring a free appetizer of homemade chips and salsa before hand. My friend from Mexico was with me on the second occasion and was super impressed and happy. However, the birria does seem slightlyyyyy cooked too fast...Birria restaurants are hard because it takes time to let the flavor soak in. The quality was still splendid however you still taste the meat through the jucies its soaked in and it was a bit thin as if it didn't have the full time to soak up the juices, BUT, this was still a worthy experience and worth taking home the leftovers. Flavors when dressed are rich, juciy, complimentary, herbal and of Good quality. Staff is superb, music and decor are quality and of native Mexico origin. You walk inside from what appears to be an industrial area on Mainstreet and are transported to Mexico lol. They do speak english as well, but if you prefer Spanish they speak Spanish. Totally worth checking out. Will totally have this on my preferred 1st date options and backpocket selections. Worth the cost as its an experience not just a sit in meal
