Good food, terrible service, go to any other spot for coffee. I had 2 drinks take over 20 minutes to make and to top it off, they weren’t that good. Dark Horse makes better drinks, the staff is super friendly and no matter how many people are in there they are always super fast. I want to support Grind House because they are a Chula Vista local spot but the staff could use some caffeine to be quicker or just be better at acknowledging the customers.

My boys and I had a little mommy and me date and stopped in for apple juice and a seasonal drink. I ordered a banana bread matcha and it was DIVINE. I'm not a matcha drinker, and generally steer clear of anything with matcha but felt like I needed something with less caffeine. We didn't try any food items, but will next time!
The sweet barista working (whose name I didn't catch) was awesome. She took it upon herself to put the glass bottle juice into plastic cups with lids and straws for my little guys, and answered the 47 questions my 6 year old had about the Halloween decor and if they had any “brains” in the shop. 🤣

I used love going to get coffee because my work is around the corner but recently i had two bad experiences. one was today, my coworker ordered a dirty chai for me and they instead gave her a regular chai, i went back asking if they could remake my drink bc it was water down and wasn’t dirty, the owner then stated i hadn’t ordered a dirty chai but he could pour the 2 shots in my drink, from there i knew i wouldn’t like the drink at all because it was water down already. such a bad experience, that my money went to waste and i had to throw my drink away because it wasn’t even drinkable. definitely disappointed on how everything was handled.

Cozy, neighborly vibe, struck up a conversation with my “bench mate” and despite or 40 mile distance have remained in contact. Easy parking and laid back yet efficient staff. I’ll be back. Also very convenient to ProSciento where I was part of a clinical trial … I’ll suggest they recommend you to visitors.

Great place to have a delicious cup of coffee, but their service and atmosphere are the cream on top. They have good music playing at the perfect volume, so you can actually have a conversation...sometimes with the friendly baristas.
