It's been a while since we ate at Max's. We decided to check it this past weekend. We ordered bulalo, daing na bangus, Laing, max chicken and calamansi juice. The bulalo was delicious. Flavor was great. Meat was tender. My husband and son loved the bangus. It was crispy. The Max's chicken was also very crispy which we loved. The chicken was not dry. The Laing was a little spicy for me. Our server was very polite and on top of things. Location was very clean. Definitely will be back

Decided to eat lunch in the Eastlake area after our Saturday errand vice driving to National City. Pansit Canton (Egg Noodles) - right balance of seasonings and amount of toppings. Noodles were perfectly cooked on my liking. Pork Sinigang ( Pork Tamarind Soup) - disappointed, it lacks the sourness that the dish was known for. The more sour the better especially during cold weather. Fried Chicken - still "Sarap-to-the-Bones" The best spot if you're looking for that Filipino style fried chicken. Crispy skin, tender and tasty chicken! Greeted by staff upon entering. There were three groups, 15 total customers at the time; quick service, had our dishes ready in 15 mins. No issues with parking.

I just moved to the area and was missing my "Auntie's" cooking from across my old office in the Bay Area so I decided to give this place a try and I'm so happy I did. I ordered the lumpia, garlic rice and adobo. The food is so flavorful and authentic tasting! Everything was delicious! No idea what these bad reviews are about and really happy they just so happened to be the closest option to me to get me to overlook the ratings. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

DISAPPOINTED half chicken was like the size of a baby chicken. The pancit was more servings than the chicken all for $32. Sorry I won’t be going back. Hope this helps anyone else.Parking: Depends on what time u go there depends on the parking situation up front.

Tried out this location. Good food and good service. The Bicol Express is a must-try. Oh, and the Kaldereta too!

? Wow..! Max’s in Chula Vista is amazing. For starters, their service is impeccable. Got seated right away, very friendly servers. The food - I’m a first timer of Philippine food and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was made to perfection, and I was told all their food is made to order, which I could certainly tell by the quality of ingredients!Atmosphere - The whole restaurant had such a cool modern hip vibe to it - very chic and trendy. This is the kind of place where you want to experience something new and fresh to the area.Oh and they have some beer too! Philippino type beer of course which was pretty awesome, I had a nice lager that went well with my food.Very clean and well organized restaurant across the board. Will be coming back for sure ..!Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What an amazing experience at Max's in Chula Vista! The service, food, and vibe were totally all on point! All their food is made to order - fresh - which I wasn't aware of, which made the food that much better. I got seated promptly, my server was very nice and super helpful with picking out what to eat (since I'm a newbie there).Their atmosphere / vibe is super chic, modern, and trendy! Overall, Max's blew me away with their high quality service and food. I will certainly be returning!!

Strange deserted restaurant serving hot oil cooked bits of chicken with 3 or 4 French fries. One of those places where your presence interrupts the waiter even though he wasn't doing

Waitress was friendly and energetic; the only downside was a small box for large pork leg to take to go. Food hot or miss with rice served cold. I liked the fried half chicken and fried pork hock. The soup was nice just would have liked it served with some spice like hot chili peppers added. Diet Pepsi hit the spot but tasted a tad on the flat side. I will consider returning when the mood strikes again.

Have you ever gone to a Filipino restaurant where the portions were small? I haven't!Until today!! I am attaching a photo of a single serving of caldereta. A SINGLE $15 SERVING WITHOUT RICE!!!!Now how many of your Filipino Lola"s would slap you if you tried to serve a portion that size to a guest? I know this is Eastlake, but for $15 drive to National City, go to Tita"s Kitchenette get a huge helping of caldareta, another huge helping of a second entree and enough rice to feed you and your Lola! Oh yeah and a bowl of sinigang!!! All that plus gas to get there and back to Eastlake is less than $15!!!I don't work for nor do I know anyone who is affiliated with Tita"s but I've been going there for over 20 years and their food is great, with very generous portions!!

A friend and his wife met me here for dinner. They wanted to try a Filipino cuisine so I chose this place. Very nice service and good food. Their fried chicken was my favorite. We also ordered pancit, chop suey, and lumpia. The lumpia was okay. (I prefer lumpia's not be cut into 1/2 or 1/3s and just make them normal size, 6" or so).

Came on a tuesday night. Not busy at all. Only 2 other customers eating. There was 7 of us and sonce we know serving sizes were small, we ordered almost 1 item each person, and everything we ate was good! We had the bulalo (big bowl), sinigang na baboy (smaller bowl), bangus sisig, daing na bangus, fried liempo (2 small pieces), fried chicken (love the crispy skin!). Had leftovers (not complaining!). The only thing I was not a big fan of was the gulaman in the "sago gulaman drink" because it was hard (like the traditional gulaman in the philippines). The waitress was really nice, gave suggestions on food and would ask if there's anything else we need and was very pleasant about it. It is a little pricey but that was expected for a sit down meal. Ambiance is good with filipino songs on the background. Would definitely eat here again!

Going to be honest food was good but to expensive way to expensive. I had to wait like 15 to 20 minutes to be seated when most of the tables were empty and not reserved. The portions are very small for the price.
