Well, I will post my initial email below since emailing corporate and their Instagram page didn't work, eventhough they read my message on Instagram and didn't care to reply to my message. I see they don't care, since there are several bad reviews on Google. Very disappointed, not a bad pizza, very pricey though, but their sanitizing, health and safety needs attention ASAP. Hello, I've been meaning to message you guys. So, last Saturday night 3/14/2020 my family and I went to one of your locations on Suite 140 555, Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910. I have to say my wife and I were concern with some health and safety issues we saw while we waited for our pizzas. It was almost closing time and we walked in to place an order to go. There were 2 girls and 1 kid in the front of the restaurant. All seemed pretty young, and a bit lost or unorganized. One girl took our order while the other two made the pizzas. So, our concern was the fact that both preps/cooks had long hair and were making the pizzas with no hats or hair nets on their heads. The one girl made our deep dish while the guy did the regular pepperoni pizza. So, the kid made the pepperoni pizza and let it sit on a table next to a sink for about 20 while the deep dish pizza was in the oven. During those 20 minutes the two preps/cooks started cleaning and sweeping. Not once did we see the two preps/cooks wash their hands. They were using a rag that we never saw them wash it or spray any cleaner on. We were amazed that during these hard times with COVID19 your staff was not taking extra steps to stay clean and germ free. After waiting 20 minutes the young kid goes and grabs the pepperoni pizza to put it in the oven and he starts touching the dough because it was falling of the pizza tray. I got up and told him that he had not washed his hands or use gloves and he had just finished sweeping. I told him I was not going to take that pizza. He seemed surprised that I had just told him that I saw him cleaning and sweeping and not once did he wash his hands. I just want you guys to be aware of the type of employees you guys have working in the restaurant. The way things are nowadays more awareness of health and safety should be focused or enforced in your restaurants. I hope my input helps your franchise and honestly I don't know if I'll go back to that location if I see those employees again. Btw....there was a very hard worker in the back of the house that seemed like a hard worker. It seemed to be the dishwasher and he was cleaning and wearing an apron, gloves, put signs out while moping. Also, at first I was charged wrong but I caught it on time before I left and got it fixed.

My boyfriend and I originally wanted Project Pie because we thought it was here. However, when we arrived we realized it was Patxi's Pizza. Since we were hungry we decided to head in a check it out. Firstly, the prices are ridiculous. For two 10' pizzas it's $42...... since we were already here we decided to bite the bullet and just eat here. The first issue was that they got my boyfriends order wrong. When he looked at the receipt they charged us for a deep dish pizza. Seeing as we just ordered he walked back to the register and clarified that he wanted a pan pizza. He clarified with the staff THREE times that he wanted a PAN PIZZA. However, when his order came out it was a deep dish. Yeah sure at some places you can correct your order. However, when you have paid over $40 for pizza and have been waiting 45 minutes you would think they would get your order right. Needless to say, you can tell the staff is new and the place is new and they need to work on things. We will not be coming back here.

Great deep dish! Great sauce, fennel sausage is tasty well balanced with lots of cheese. Crust is well baked and tasty. Definitely worth the wait, if a baby takes 9 months what's a mere 40 minutes! I will be back.

The Old Chicago deep dish pizza is not cheap at $30 for a small one. Couple that with the 45 minute wait to prepare it and it is questionable whether this joint will survive. They have occupied the former Project Pie location, which was skimpy- modern and did not last. That speaks to ambiance - what ambiance? Oh the loud, loud music playing? No, that was not a plus either. We couldn't hear each other talk. The walls look like a subway station. When the pizza finally came, the flavors were unlike most pizza I have had. Lots of tomato sauce, some peppers and onion, and s nit of sausage. One piece was enough for me. Don' bother trying to figure out how to say the name of the place, just go somewhere else.

Honestly not a location I would visit again . Employees are friendly and welcoming but I am pretty sure the pizza is old and they just reheat them through out the day . My pizza was hard and very greasy .

20 minutes to make a small pizza at x2 the price of project pie? Menu is a laminated piece of paper on a table Very awkward layout and honestly, they killed a great business buying out project pie and turning it into this mess of a business. Super disappointing.

This place not going to last long no customer at all!!we miss project pie!!! We miss Project pie prices this place is too expensive for toppings little Caesars is cheaper than this place. I wanted to build my own pizza but the topping cost too much just for 1 2/3 dollar per topping!!! I like multiple toppings I don't just put one topping on my pizza we will see how long this place last

I miss Project Pie! This was my first visit to Patxi's Pizza as I was meeting some friends for lunch at the Chula Vista Mall and they switched up the location to give Patxi's a try. Upon parking, I realized the location which I knew previously as Project Pie had closed and reopened as Patxi's Pizza approximately two months ago according to one of their employees. The weird part was there was NO ONE dining at Patxi's at 12noon on a Thursday??? I'm always up to try something new and since I didn't want to wait for a personal "deep dish" pizza, I opted for their Neapolitan pizza and ordered a "Build My Own" (red pie w/ mozzarella cheese, black olives, mushrooms, white onions, and bell peppers). I was SHOCKED to say the least when my order totaled $22.84!!! For a 10" personal thin crust Neapolitan pizza??? I asked if I had ordered a "personal sized" pizza and the lady politely told me that I had... Apparently, their 10" cheese pizza is $13.00 and each additional topping is $2.00!!! WOW!!! Project Pies Build-Your-Own pizzas were $8.50! You could almost buy three of their pizzas for the price of one at Patxi's. It wasn't surprising that no one else was eating there besides our party of 3 at that time. Anyway, had it not been a group lunch, I probably would've passed and got something else available at the mall. I actually had iced water to drink from their soda fountain, but I could've imagined what my tab would've been had I ordered a soda. I don't want the entire review to sound negative, but we're not in Newport Beach, Patxi's is located in west Chula Vista. $23 for a 10" thin crust pizza won't be a popular choice for my family. It's a shame because while I wouldn't say it's the best pizza I've had in town, it was pretty good, and had it been $10 or less, I may have had a different review, but I'm sorry, if I took my family of four here, and none of us ordered any drinks in addition to the pizza, we'd be spending close to a hundred dollars for four personal pizzas. Good luck Patxi's!!! I hope you do well, but unfortunately, we won't be back unless you have a BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) coupon we can use from the Pennysaver or the San Diego Reader.

It's hard coming to Patxi's after being a regular at Project Pie before the switch. Instead of getting a pizza made right before your eyes you get a slice of pizza from a refrigerator reheated in a small oven ... This was our second visit and I hate to say I won't be returning it's just not the same quality.

Interesting reviews....take the reviews with one or two other reviews with a grain of salt. This is not a fast food pizza place. If you want a fresh pie, then call ahead, or wait the 45 minutes it takes to make the dough, and bake the pizza. They do have pre-made slices. They taste great, and is what we had, although they could have been hotter. They crust was true Chicago style deep dish, and the ingredients were obviously fresh. While there we watched how a pizza was made from scratch. Who knew the dough was layered? There were 5 if us, and all had a different slice. All were great. Prices were reasonable. Dinner for 5, with tip, was $50. The cashier was very nice, as was the young lady who replaced her shortly after we ordered. They brought the pizza to our table, and the old fountain machine from Project Pie was still on the back wall. I miss the saying on the wall from the old place, buy it's understandable they want a fresh look. We'll be back.

We used to eat here regularly when it was Project Pie, it was friendly and awesome. Since it’s changed to Patxi’s we’ve given it 3 tries and haven’t been impressed.

The deep dish classic meat is my favorite. The pizza holds up against Chicago pies. If you have 45 minutes to wait, it's definitely worth it.

We just moved to Chula Vista and we were searching for a unique pizza shop. We went to the shopping center up the street, (Chula Vista Shopping Center on H Street). And found patxis pizza. We stopped I and found a very good pizza with unique style of Gourmet pizza. The flavors are awesome and the pie was excellent. Soda was flavorful and not watery. I give this pizza shop 5-stars. It was clean, served hot with friendly service and a great change from the normal pizza taste.

We wanted to go to Project Pie, but found it had changed to Patxi's. We gave it a try, but probably won't return. It's expensive. For our family of four, the bill was $59.16. That was just four small pizzas for takeout--no drinks. This place charges like a regular pizza parlor: different prices for different size pizzas plus A DOLLAR OR TWO FOR EACH TOPPING. The ordering is different too. It's no longer "Subway style" where you tell them what you want as they make it. Now you go to the register, put in your full order, and pay. Two parties who came in after us got their pizzas before us, so we were frustrated with that. In the end, the pizzas were made correctly and tasted good, but we wish it was still Project Pie.
