I loved everything about this experience! First off, a food truck towing around an oven to bake pizzas in is pretty kick a** (in my opinion). They definitely got my attention. The guys working were personable and polite and my pizza was delicious!! If you see this place around I highly recommend you give it a try!

Traded these guys some food from my food truck for a pizza from their's. They really did a great job on the pizza. Had the right amount of toppings and a nice thin crispy crust. Reminded me of back home on the East Coast. I was going to take a picture but... Yum

The pizza is not appetizing. While the ingredients do taste fresh the dough tastes as if it were a mix of cardboard, sand, and sweat. There is nothing to add to the flavor of the pizza, and the only value is that there is an oven behind the truck for production. I would advise going somewhere else for this pizza.

Superb, authentic, quality, taste. First time trying this wood fired pie was at Second Chance Beer Co. Carmel Mountain. It was great! Highly recommend, high quality, loads of flavor, made from scratch, excellent. Hope they are there tomorrow!

LOVE their Salt and Pepper pork belly Mac & Cheese! So so good, melts in your mouth and is the best combination. Try it!

Have tried the pizza twice, both at Helix Brewery. I have to say it's the best pizza I've had in San Diego. First time I ordered the sausage and pepperoni with quail eggs. The crust is excellent in texture throughout not doughy or soggy, holds the ingredients perfectly and tastes great. For $2 you can get 4 quail eggs which taste no different to me than chicken eggs. Second time I went I got only one meat but doubled down on the quail eggs so there was one egg per slice. Even without the eggs I say it doesn't get any better than this.

Mario genuinely loves the art of cooking and you can tell from his food! The Caliano pizza truck is at Fall Brewing (30th St) every Thursday. The pizza is delicious. After going to Fall a few times on Thursdays and thoroughly enjoying the pizza, we asked Mario and his team to cater our small (30 people) wedding. Mario was pumped and super helpful brainstorming a menu with us. Our wedding was September 30th, 2016. The food was great and our guests loved the experience! Generally, I don't get super excited about salad but the salad was honestly one of the best salads I've ever had!

Mario cooks a mean pizza, one of the best in San Diego!

They were parked outside of Fall brewing. Pizza and beer? Yes please! They have a wood fired oven they drag along. The workers were very nice. The pizza was just OK imo. The things I didn't like were the middle was soggy. When i pulled out the first piece it was like a wet noodle and the toppings slid off. I carefully put the toppings back on and decided maybe it needed to sit longer. I waited a bit and it was still soggy. I got the sausage and mushroom and my friend got jalapeno pineapple ham. The topping also were skimpy and they left a good 2 inches of crust untopped. So way too much crust and soggy crust. If they are charging $12 a personal pizza well then I feel it should be worth it. It as not worth it in my opinion. The lady asked how I liked it when I left which was nice but I felt bad to tell her it was soggy and there was too much crust and not enough toppings. Sometimes I just don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

I had the opportunity to meet up with this Rustic Neopolitan wood fire oven pizza truck at Helix Brewery in La Mesa, Ca.. After enjoying a cold beer, I asked them to make me the Mushroom and Sausage pizza baked in a red and black wood fire oven. The pizza cost $12. The pizza was quite excellent at many levels. First of all, I was very pleased with the sauce made from organic San Marzano Tomatoes. It was light but provided a great natural mild tomato flavor. I had a great balance between sweet and acidity, both being very subtle. The pizza's sausage is made by the proprietor, Mario M., and let me tell you, he makes some grand sausage. The sausage was lighter than most and not overwhelmed by herbs and seasoning. It did have a small amount of fennel seeds, but no so much that it allowed the natural pork flavor to come through nicely. The mushrooms that came with this pizza were rendered down well from baking and were tender with a good earthy flavor. The Mozzarella was fresh and the pizza came with just the right amount. I was very impressed with the pizza's crust. It was of the thinner variety but held up very well to the pizza's ingredients. Even though it was thin and had a good light crunch, it also had very good texture and where there was some sort of thickness, it had a bit of a chew. You can find this pizza truck at local breweries and such, so check out their calendar, twitter, or your local breweries calendar for when they might be in your area.
