Squeeze extra lime and add that red sauce and you'll thank me later.This is the San Diego staple for late night Mexican food. I feel bad for tourists who come to San Diego and haven't had the chance to try Tacos El Gordo's tacos. It's a must!

Tacos El Gordo isn't just a taco joint for us--it's practically our second home. We've made so many trips there that the staff probably have our taco preferences memorized by now. It's like our version of Cheers, where everyone knows our taco order. All the locations I've been to have the same ambiance, and set up. Red seats with white table and a security guard in case the Cartels try to come and steal some meat. Wifey and I will keep showing up like clockwork, here ready to dive into our beloved carne tacos and trippa delights at Tacos El Gordo!

Finally got to try the famous tacos! We came around 4pm on a Saturday and found parking in the spacious lot in the back. The lines to order food were a bit busy so it took around 20 mins to get all my food. We ordered the carne asada, lengua, and adobada. I enjoyed the carne asada the most, it was so flavorful and delicious! The lengua was very tender and the adobada was good and flavorful, but a bit spicy for me. I would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area!

First time trying the famous tacos! Came on a Saturday around 4PM and found parking in the back easily and took about 20 minutes in line to get my food and pay. Ordered carne asada, lengua and adobada tacos and they were all delicious! Would love to come back when I'm in the area

I've gone several times. I order the adobada fries; very little meat. Not even enough for a small taco. They fill the box with 96% fries, lay thin pieces of "adobada meat" over the fries. Only laying down the pieces that are mostly fat. Given them enough chances and money. Will not go anymore. I give up on tacos el gordo on Palm Avenue. I had to put a star to post. But they don't even deserve that One star.

Far too many people, it was late in the night, I spent 45 minutes in the line to get food. The people there was rude, discounters and pushy. In my humble opinion what we hot wasn't worth the aggravation. Jmo

Best tacos in San Diego. I was a little overwhelmed at first due to the lines and how busy it was busy but it was totally worth it. I did take off a star because the same tacos in Tijuana are 1/3rd the price. Unfortunate but I would still go back.

Tacos El Gordo has delicious tacos with generous meat portions. The line is very long but I do think that it's worth it. I'm a fan of their adobada and their green sauce. I also like to get their campechana fries (half adobada and half carne asada). There is a small parking lot in the back and restrooms are available.
