My sister recommended this place and although the food was really good, I feel like their pricing is extremely deceptive. I ordered a dinner special which was supposed to be $11.95 + the option to ADD A SIDE OR ENTREE for an extra $5. Since this was somewhere new to me and out of the area where I live, I thought adding an entree would be a good way to try 2 items so I ordered general chicken and added orange chicken. Well, apparently "add" means subtract because they subtracted half of the general chicken to add the orange chicken so I paid almost $19 for the same amount of food that was supposed to be $12/$13. I assumed "add" meant a small portion of the added entree on the side + the full amount of the original entree but that is not the case. I have no complaints about the taste of the food or the customer service but this deceptive pricing is enough for me to not want to return. If they want to be honest, the should change the name from "add a side/entree" to "split a side/entree" because that's quite literally what it is. You're getting a half portion of the original item + a half portion of the added item so you're essentially paying $5 for nothing. If I would've known I was getting the same amount of food for $19 that I could've got for $13 I would've just ordered the items separately because I would rather pay $26 for two plates than $19 for one. It's a shame because I genuinely liked their food better than the Chinese restaurant close to me in Folsom and their location is very close to my sister but this just left a sour taste in my mouth. If I'm visiting my sister and she decides to order here I might get something but I certainly won't be going out of my way to come here. My 3 stars is strictly because the taste was 10/10.

I was in the area and wanted to try something new and found this place looking at google maps list of food places near me. I ordered 3 $11.95 dinner specials. The first was orange chicken with chow mein which was really really good. It had a sligjt sweetness to it, the breading almost taste like funnel cake which was yummy. The second special I got was general chicken. It also had a really good flavor and wasn't spicy like other general chickens I had. The last special I ordered was sweet and sour pork with pork fried rice. I'm not a huge fan of rice in general but this rice was still pretty good. The sweet and sour pork was tender and had a good strong flavor. I split the plates with someone else and they loved everything but the general chicken was their favorite. As for me, I liked all 3 and can't decide which one was better. I would get all of them again and they all had such different flavor profiles it's impossible to choose. They have the best chow mein I've ever tried out of all the Chinese restaurants I've tried in Antelope, North Highlands or Rio Linda. It has a char flavor to it that sets it above the rest. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

If you've read any of my other reviews you'll know I normally order a few things to see if I should even come back. the first thing is Salt & Pepper Chicken or Shrimp. It's one of those dishes that sounds easy, and it kind of is if they know what they're doing. and also at least one other dish from the menu that's like a lunch or dinner special. This place has an interesting twist on Salt & Pepper Chicken, they added Asparagus. Yeah, this little addition made it SOOOO much better. everything was crisp and crunchy not unlike a tempura. The spices could have been kicked up a bit. Normally this dish adds Szechuan pepper to make it interesting but I didn't taste the telltale buzz of the ground Szechuan pepper and the usual sliced almost carmelized onions were missing as well, maybe because of the asparagus. Overall it was good, MUCH better than most of the other mediocre Chinese restaurants around Sacramento. (yeah I said it again, Sacto has a dearth of decent Chinese joints!). The other thing I got was one of their lunch specials: Mongolian Beef with Chow Mein. For a cheap lunch special, it was surprisingly good! The Chow Mein actually had lots of flavor and there was lots of it with plenty of veggies and BBQ pork. The Mongolian Beef is normally something I avoid, but I'm SO happy I got it here. The beef was super tender and flavorful lots of beef and other veggies. . I like this place and will come back to try other dishes and see if it's good enough to be part of my regular rotation of places to grab a bite. A solid 4 stars for this meal.

Temple Garden has a dish called Green Beans and Shrimp. The dish has a sweet and tangy taste to it. Not too sweet and not too tangy. There is an abundance of shrimp and the price is reasonable. The portions are generous.

I only ever had temple garden one time with my family and the food is delicious and the service is good don’t get me wrong.. This time I ordered takeout and When I got home I was enjoying my food when I felt a hair in my mouth as I was chewing on a piece of beef from the broccoli beef I ordered only to find the hair wrapped around the beef! mind you this is a straight hair and my hair is curly naturally. I’m disgusted. Safe to say I’m not ordering from here again..

Looking for good Chinese food you'll find it here! Slightly high in price but the portion of food you get beats the price. Will definitely be back :)

Amazing customer service very kind and patient. I tend to take a bit when trying new places. My husband and me loved the food and most importantly, the customer service was amazing. The gentleman who took our order was respectful kind and attentive. We need more of this kindness. It's sad that most places are now having poor customer service or having a bad attitude. It was nice to see that good people and workers still exist. I was raised very old school. Having a good attitude and kindness goes along way. I wish most places had this. Even if what you get or order may not be something you're expecting at least a good experience will make you find something more to your liking and still enjoy going to that place again. Fortunately, here the food was so good and professional.

I used to be a Wong's Garden guy and their retirement still saddens me. My wife's family has always done Rose Garden and Its become my new go too. I enjoy Chopsticks as well. A friend recommended Temple Garden and I was going to humor her but I was almost shocked at how much I liked Temple Garden. The ambiance is nice as you walk in the door. It's small but feels open. The guy working the front was professional, quick and like-able. The food was great. The sweet and sour chicken had the best crunch to it. This soft, amazing squish to the breading and a great flavor to the sweet and sour. Not too sweet and well balanced. The lemon chicken was subdued but flavorful. The house chicken was my wife's favorite. Nothing was disappointing. If I didn't already do Rose Garden then Temple Garden would be my new place and I'll recommend it to others and go back myself.

First, Cindy was great. very professional taking my order and answering questions. I hadn't been here before so had a few re: MSG use, use of low sodium soy if possible. Next, I was CRAVING POTSTICKERS. I found theirs to be superior. They are deep fried, that's a first. Their dipping sauce wasn't very salty, a hint of sweetness , snd very tasty. I also like mine spicy, so had requested chili oil and was given a 2oz container (same size as the dipping sauce). Perfect balance. I dumped both on the potstickers, and they sucked in the mixture. OH! SO! GOOD!! To accompany this I got a house fried rice which had chicken, BBQ pork & beef. So very tasty. Lovely pan bits from the stir frying, the scallions obviously in towards the end of the cooking process. YUM!!! I can't wait to return and experience other dishes. Their menu looked pretty extensive. Sadly, my photos are not very good. My rice photo didn't capture.

The food was good. I would definitely come back if it were just for the food. A bit expensive. However, I was served a beer that was completely warm and seemed like it never touched the inside of a fridge. Also, the woman working at the front took a customer's order over speaker phone and I could hear his card number, expiration date, and security code. Not cool.
