My wife and I tried this in the past month and it was our first time trying any sort of meal prep service. I saw the great reviews and am happy to say that our experience was consistent with the other great reviews! Communication has been clear and on point from the very beginning. One of the other reviewers mentioned that they gave a lot of food but we didn't mind this over the course of the month and it was actually very helpful. The food quality was great as well. My wife is a bit picky and they were quick to make any accommodations we requested. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to anyone looking for postpartum meal support!

I forgot to review this place, but we chose them for my first child after sampling a few different places. The food isn't too heavy but it's flavorful and not at all bland. It's not cheap but it was 100000% worth it. Now that I'm due with my second, I'm planning to use them again. So grateful that such a great service exists here. I live in OC and they still were able to deliver to me, though for an extra fee.

I completed my 30 day meal plan with Jen Health a few months back (my daughter is now 4 months). I can verify that they provided quality meals the entire duration. Because of the food, I had so much energy and felt happy despite waking up every 2 hours to feed and despite having two other children to take care of. The food was very nutritious and delicious - everything was fresh and cooked with a lot of care. Customer service was really good as well. Contact was mostly done through text but they were on top of answering right away at all times. The delivery person was very friendly. I highly recommend them to anyone.

Very delicious food (as I've sampled 2 other places even during covid time). Great customer service. Very considerate employees. They were able to meet my needs as well as educate me regarding the first month recovery Chinese tradition. The delivery is always on time as well. Wayyyy too much food for me though. I still have some food left 2 months postpartum. I didn't know this but sometimes they have holiday discount for early sign ups. I highly recommend this place for postpartum meal deliveries.

I ordered 30-day meal plan for my wife after our son was born. Because the food quality and stellar customer service, we extended to 42-day plan. We especially like the varieties of soup for each meal: not very salty but definitely flavourful. We will highly recommend Jen Health Meal, especially for family with newborns.

What a lifesaver! Delicious healthy meal delivered timely to your door everyday for the first month after giving birth. It helps beyond the recovery of my body but the recovery of my mind and spirit. Just taking that burden off from cooking and shopping are priceless. Thanks everyone at Jen's meal for providing nutritious food for a new mom during a challenging time(covid pandemic) in the history of mankind. You guys are heroes!!!

Each Health Meal done with Care is anAct of Love This quote is so appropriate for Jen Health Meal. I am a woman belong to the Silver Sneaker group in YMCA. We need nurturing the same as for the postpartum mothers. I had been looking for a delivery meal service that does tasty, light and nutritious quality food in a long while. And ... Oh my oh my! Have I found it now. Two days ago, from a dear friend's referral, I phoned Tiffany. Tiffany was very efficient. We discussed a plan that suit to my need. At the same time she graciously offered me a trial meal. The next day, the trial meal was promptly and respectfully delivered by courteous and neat EJ. I was impressed by the brand new clean container box outside and was equally impressed by the 13 carefully packed containers inside. The 13 health dishes consisted of: 2 for breakfast - egg foo young, corn vegetable porridge 4 for lunch - grain rice, 1 veggie, 2 main *- 1 fish, 1 chicken 4 for dinner - grain rice, 1 veggie, 2 main *- 1 pork ribs , 1 pork bones2 semi-sweet desserts, peanut/red bean and a glutinous rice pudding. 1 large container of herbal tea. The portion of each pack was so much food, enough at least for two meals. Based on nutrition guidelines, savory menu, each meal was appetizing - colorful, tasty, and aromatic. Fresh veggies were cut evenly in adequate sizes. Not salty not greasy. All the main* dishes for lunch and dinner were exquisitely simmered with appropriate high quality ingredients. - The collagen in the bones is extra rich causing soups to gel. These are rich, well-made broth. These are very nutritious for young and old. The Jen Health Meals taste Love in each bites and sips.

Food was always delivered timely, and portions were more than enough! The food itself wasn't too salty or oily and really tasted like a home cooked meal. It's enough to deal with postpartum recovery and a newborn so it was so nice not having to about worry about my next meal and how to build up my supply. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking into ordering postpartum meals!

I'm a pregnant first time mom and our baby is due at the end of the October. I've been researching postpartum meals along with a few other must have's such as nanny services, nursery items etc in preparation for our child's arrival. One of my friends introduced me to Jane Classic Chinese Postpartum Meals and we scheduled a tasting with Tiffany a couple weekends ago to try out their food. Tiffany is very bubbly and helpful and explained what each dish were and the importance of detoxing the first 2 week to help with lochia and of improve your nutrition the subsequent weeks to help with milk production. Pros: -Friendly customer service -Complimentary tasting -Ability to modify meal plans to remove internal organs (livers & kidneys) -Ability to remove Chinese herbs for those of us who are not too crazy about the smell of traditional medicine -Daily alternating meal plans -Low in sodium which will likely help to reduce swelling -Free daily meal delivery to rowland heights and SGV / Arcadia area -Ability to start with 2 weeks then extend to 1 month (30 day option had a reduced daily cost) Cons: -Customer service couldn't clearly convey complex concepts of Chinese postpartum meal in English so I had to translate for my friend who doesn't really understandChinese -Tasting was done at a rented office building that was pretty hard to find per Google maps. -Not sure if the company had a centralized kitchen where they could do quality control (We were shown a picture of a store front with an "A" rating instead) -There's a lot of oil in the soup dishes, and I'm not sure if it's because the food was lukewarm. I couldn't eat more than a couple bites per dish as a result. (At the tasting the food was reheated by office microwave instead of freshly prepared) - No caloric count on any of the daily meal plans. (This concerns me since I felt their soups were on the oilier side to start with) - If you lived outside the above areas, you will have to pay a delivery fee to pay for every other day delivery (say, to Pasadena) Two of my friends and I ended up trying another postpartum meal service and ultimately hiring the other service. These postpartum meal services are essentially the same price in this area, the deciding factor for me was the less oily meals. I think Jane Classic's food would improve drastically if they were to run an oil separator to filter out the oil first.

I chose Jane Classic for postpartum meal delivery after I had both my kids, in 2013 and in 2015. For those of you not in the know, postpartum meals are used to help 'heal' the new mother and it is a BIG thing for Chinese folks. You can read more about the diet in the LA Times: For my first child in 2013, my Taiwanese tiger mom was adamant about my eating postpartum meals. A friend recommended Jane Classic - his wife did extensive research and had compared many businesses before choosing this one. I trusted their judgement and we scheduled a tasting appointment. My parents and I attended the tasting with 3 other pregnant women and their mothers. We were served a typical delivery meal - an array of 6-8 dishes in the portions you'd see delivered. The owner provided an overview of the postpartum diet, possible benefits and a description of their ingredients. She also introduced each dish and the rationale as to why it may heal the body. Food was fresh, authentically Chinese and delicious though only lightly salted (to help shed postpartum water weight; it was instead seasoned with ginger, sesame oil, rice wine, dates, Golgi berries, etc). A rare dish tasted or smelled of Chinese herbs - not something that bothers me but some may be concerned (like my husband - he survived). Price for 30 days of food is around $2K. We were offered gifts (extra tea in each delivery, YMMV) for signing up that day. Since I live in a beach city and their primary delivery zone is in the SGV, the owner said there would be delivery every other afternoon (instead of every noon) and an additional delivery fee of $200-300. While I don't buy into all the claims of the postpartum diet, I agreed to meal delivery to 1) not worry about cooking or nutrition with a newborn, 2) to appease my very persistent mother and follow a tiny part of tradition and 3) enjoy good Chinese food without leaving the South Bay. Without the food delivery, we probably would have lived off of frozen pizza, canned soup, prepared food from the grocery stores and takeout - not very healthy. I called the business from the hospital to set up the first delivery. A large clean plastic bin held each day's breakfast, lunch and dinner: 12-15 food containers of congee, soup, vegetables, rice and dessert. Food looked and tasted exactly as expected. Servings are large with plenty to share - had enough to sometimes share with my husband or pack my son's lunch (no herbal stuff of course). This is unlike another popular company that touts calorie restriction (who pays to get LESS food??). I was getting two plastic bins every other day, so my fridge looked packed like an expert game of Tetris! I had my second child in 2015 and shopped around for postpartum meal businesses as there was now more competition in this space. Had a negative experience with another business that marketed a free Eastern medicine consult that included fat shaming (I'm not fat) - told me I was terribly unhealthy (counter to what my general practitioner, OBGYN and acupuncturist have said) and needed their diet ASAP. I do NOT condone fat shaming; there is certainly too much of it in Asian culture and pregnancy/postpartum are not good times for this type of negative mentality. We chose Jane Classic again for their honesty, quality food, good portions and service. Tiffany and Grace are very nice to work with and accommodating. 2013 vs 2015, changes Jane Classic made to the menu include: vegetables are now cooked with protein so have more umami flavor, congee often includes fish or meal, offering a more balanced breakfast. There are fewer soups with herbal medicine or pork liver. In 2013, pork liver was served for the entire week immediately after delivery with the broth separated from the meat, to help ABC moms eat what they are comfortable with. In 2015, I received pork liver only once, in my first meal. I actually enjoy the rare innard but get that many people don't. Another difference was in the starch provided. 2013 used to offer different rices (sticky rice, eight jewel rice, congee,
