This place was amazing! I had the best charashi bowl ever, with large slices of fish and a mix of rice and salads. Plus it was lunchtime, so everything was 20% off!

We love coming to Oni because of Maddy. She's genuine and always remember what we order. We are regular customers and she makes every visit amazing. She knows her menu and can suggest the best add on if we're indecisive. We thank you Maddy. You're amazing at what you do. Make us happy.

Delicious! Lovely to go with a group of friends and fairly reasonably priced. Love the kiwi on the Oni Special Roll :)
the water from their bathroom faucet has been milky for several years now and it doesnt clearup very quickly. food is good but to think they are using this same water to make the food. the problem is the faucet water from the neighboring business is clear. hope their water is not contaminated.

Oni Sushi is hands-down one of the best sushi experiences I’ve ever had! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is cozy yet modern, making it perfect for a casual dinner or a special night out. The fish is incredibly fresh, every roll is artfully crafted, and the flavors are perfectly balanced. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, making the whole experience feel personal and welcoming. Whether you’re a sushi newbie or a seasoned aficionado, Oni Sushi is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again!

Nice restaurant with good ambiance and good service. Ordered the “jessica roll” that was supposed to come with avocado but I had a hard time finding any (you be the judge; photo attached). The tempura was cold and soggy. The entire roll was also drowned in eel sauce that was covering up any flavor of the roll, if there was any in the first place. The fish tasted fresh but I’ve had grocery store rolls that I enjoyed more than this.

Solid sushi spot with good ambiance. Service was very friendly and the wait was not long at all. I’d recommend the Philly Roll.

Oni is a good sushi spot in the downtown Claremont location. Got the yuzu sake for some drinks, which was a bit sweet for my liking but tasty and also got the hot sake, was ok. For sushi, we got the Lion King, spider (shown in photo), and rainbow roll. They all had good size pieces of fish, moderately fresh, and had a good mix of flavors. I think they could have had more of a selection of rolls (like diff combinations of seafood in the rolls) but the ones we got gave us enough variety. Got the green tea tempura ice cream for desert; tempura was nicely fried, green tea ice cream wasn’t too bad, and tasted good overall. Service was great! Our waitress was super nice and on top of it.

Rude white cake face ponytail server asked me to move when she has legs and can walk behind me. Also rest of staff was very unwelcoming.

so bad. Used to be good, now it's filled with dirty tables and dirty dishes that nobody is cleaning, and soggy tempura that wasn't even dipped in a fryer. Seriously, the tempura batter was sliding off the food and the waitress was acting as if it was normal. never returning, Like a lot of things in Claremont it is terribly overpriced for what it actually is.
Never eating here again, I got a fish bone stuck in my throat and ended up in the hospital. Spent 6 hours in the hospital so they could surgically remove it. This place is very dangerous to eat at. Thank God it wasn't a child that got it stuck in their throat.
Poor management
