Live Oak Kitchen Reviews
There’s something deeply satisfying about finding people doing one thing really, really well without making a big production out of it.
Live Oak Kitchen is running a BBQ operation out of their home in Concord, and they’re putting out food that deserves your attention.
The tri-tip sandwich is deceptively simple: toasted bread, thick slices of smoked tri-tip with a beautiful dark bark, and a bright jalapeño sauce. That’s it. And that’s exactly why it works.

This is one of those places that’s so good. I don’t mind if there’s a line because I want them to succeed. Every item they make is spot on in flavor. From the turkey sandwich to the tri-tip to the amazing buttery chocolate chip cookies. You might have to wait but trust me it’ll be worth it.
Absolutely phenomenal BBQ. The tri-tip sandwich? Best in the Bay. Tender, smoky, and unforgettable. That smoked jalapeño sauce hits hard in the best way. Served out of a character-packed urban farm, this neighborhood gem oozes good vibes. Go support these legends.

Live Oak Kitchen is a BBQ operation running out of a home in Concord, serving California heritage barbecue. The tri-tip sandwich is a standout, made with toasted bread, thick slices of smoked tri-tip with a dark bark, and a bright jalapeño sauce. The meat is tender and deeply smoky, and the jalapeño sauce cuts through the richness. The ratios are dead-on, and it eats clean. Other items include the turkey sandwich, the chicken with a signature rub, the beans, and buttery chocolate chip cookies. The chicken has a nice crust from the delicious rub. Everything tastes homemade and cooked with care, like an executive chef-owned kitchen. Portion sizes and service are excellent. There might be a line, but it is worth the wait. This is a local family owned and operated place with good vibes and home town hospitality that deserves support.
