We arrived for our reservation and we're seated immediately. The servers were polite and friendly. The Steak Frites and Beef Wellington were bit amazing.

Our experience at Chez Loma was very disappointing. The food was mediocre, especially for the high prices. The service felt disorganized—there didn't seem to be anyone in charge, and everything appeared to be run solely by the waitstaff. Multiple tables around us were clearly upset because the food took an extremely long time to arrive, with huge gaps between courses. The servers were constantly apologizing, and we even saw customers leave furious. It also felt like the staff prioritized older, frequent customers over everyone else. To make things worse, the restaurant is not handicap-accessible—there's no ramp or friendly accommodations. Overall, a very poor experience and not worth the cost.

Initially received wrong salad order, but it was quickly remedied. Food was excellent albeit small portioned. You need to know that entrees come with no sides.

This little gem is a keeper! The Anthony, bartender of this intimate place, was cordial and served an exceptional drink. Our server ( whose name I have forgotten) was warm and did a wonderful job describing the menu selections. The small menu had some interesting and delicious items, as well as a steak that cut like butter and was perfectly cooked. And try the steak frittes!! I am sad that this place is so far away, because I would want to be a regular!

Fantastic experience at Chez Loma! Atmosphere was elegant & charming, wait staff were attentive but not intrusive, and the food was delicious! Highly recommend the beet salad & Beef Wellington with it's side of mashed. The steak frites was uniquely presented & tasty. Looking forward to returning to this quaint hidden gem!

My husband and I enjoyed dinner at Chez Loma before seeing "Trip to Bountiful" at the Lamb's Players Theater. We have been multiple times over the years and like the opportunity to have an early dinner before a play. (The play was wonderful, by the way, don't miss it.) The main dining room was empty and we were seated at a table for two next to the large open window that opens onto the framed-in bar area. The bar area was fairly noisy with customers, music and bar activities so we moved to a quieter table, which was nice. We both had the French onion soup for starters (excellent!). I had the salmon, after asking for the advice of the waiter, and it was superb. I would definitely have it again. My husband had the beef bourguignon, which he has had at Chez Loma several times over the years and in many other restaurants around the world. His entree however didn't look like any beef bourguignon with which we were familiar. (If you are not familiar with the dish, google images provides lots of photos.) The beef was tender and plenty of it but the only other accompaniment was mashed potatoes. No other vegetables - no onions, mushrooms or carrots. Just pureed potatoes. He basically had "brown & white/meat & potatoes" for dinner. Perhaps the chef had pureed the vegetables into the broth, not sure, but the dish desperately needed another vegetable. Giving our dinner a 4 star instead of 5 star for the meat & potatoes entree. We'll be back for dinner - Chez Loma is a local gem - but beef bourguignon will no longer be on our dining list.

As always our annual visit to Coronado is not complete without our dinner at Chez Loma❤️. This time I had the Beef Wellington and it was so delicious. We are never disappointed by our meals. Sam was awesome and knew his choice recommendations. Thanks again for a special night in Coronado. ❤️. See you next time.

We live across the bay in San Diego and this was well worth the Uber over. Close to flawless.

Made reservations for an anniversary dinner. The night started poorly. Arrived five minutes early. The hostess was unwelcoming and had us wait on the sidewalk until our exact reservation although the table had been clearly open and ready. Then she attempted to seat us shoulder to shoulder with another couple when there were other open tables. We had to ask to be seated elsewhere.

The restaurant is in an old home so expect tight seating on straight back chairs. You do have to watch your feet and elbows.

However, if you’ve made it this far it gets better. Our waiter was great, very attentive and knowledgeable. The food is very good. We had steak frites and the beef Wellington. Both cooked to perfection. Get the mixed vegetables too.

Expect $200-$300 for two.

Came here for dinner and it was pretty decent, the servers were really nice, the mocktails and cocktails were good. The beef bourguignon was so tender and almost buttery, steak was cooked to perfection, the tartare was fresh. The only thing that was mid was the bread, which was surprising considering this is a French restaurant. But overall a good dinner :)

Always outstanding. Have been coming here when in Coronado for 15+ years. Food is outstanding. The old house has so much character. Bartender also makes perfect martinis.

A delightful evening with creative delicious food and good service Only suggestion back corner table by booth needs more room, guest in chair bumped by booth occupant.

It’s weird they take you upstairs to this room
No other customers at that time, awkward silence.
Reservation 6:30 on Friday

My wife liked her courses
French O soup and short ribs

I ordered Salmon and they brought out
Steak decided not to make a big deal but food was cold .

The idea is this old historic French Coronado quaint restaurant. I have eaten everywhere here over last 40 years and some of these places just don’t live up to hype .

Will not go back unless I eat first to get full.
Then go there , fool me once.

It seems there were recents changes with the kitchen or maybe a new chef. Chez Loma ambiance is so beautiful and we had a wonderful time but some of our favorite dishes changed and not quite for the better. The food was still very good but the change is noticeable.
