We sat in a cozy little room on the right with one mirrored wall, a bay and side window. The atmosphere was very pleasant. French music was playing softly with dim lighting. Our waiter Art was vey nicer attentive and soft spoken. We were with our two best friends. They said I picked a winner and I couldn't agree more. We will definitely come back. By the way the lobster ravioli was fantastic.
We have been to a frw French restaurants in San Diego. This by far is my favorite. These are the reasons why. Romantic Excellent service by Matthew Food Location We started off with two of the specialty drinks, Hendricks cooler and a cosmochello martini. Appetizers we had the french onion soup and artichoke. The soup had plenty of onions, just the right amount of cheese and was piping hot. The artichoke had flavors that were very unique. For the mains salmon and chicken Milanese. The Milanese was enough to feed two. The Milanese was perfectly crisp on the outside. The arugula on top added an extra dimension to the flavor. I'm guessing the salmon which was wild was excellent, it was eaten in its entirety. For desert we had the bread pudding. The ice cream on top was a hit. Special thank you to Matthew for his exceptional service. We will be back with friends.
The food was very good. We sat in the bar and it was fun people watching but too loud for conversation.
Delicious crab cake and chef's special risotto, and Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée to die for! John was a good server, as was the rest of the team. Great date night!
Great experience! A quaint and beautiful restaurant. Our waiter was very pleasant and even walked us outside to show us where the Bower hotel is where we ended up checking out the rooftop for a drink afterwards. Very personalized service and wonderful food. I recommend to All and I will definitely return.
Outstanding dining experience to night! Octopus and Escargot were excellent! As well as the Ceasar Salad and Beef Wellington! The smoky Old Fashioned was absolutely perfect! And the service was impeccable thanks to Johnny our waiter!
At a venue that shall remain nameless, we had reservations for Thanksgiving dinner and they gave away our table. We did a google search and came upon Chez Loma. They graciously accommodated us last minute for a table for two. Initially we were given a table by the bar, but as we found it a little drafty, they very generously moved us upstairs to another table.
The service was top notch. The food was great and perfectly seasoned. My daughter said the sweet potatoes were a little undercooked. But all in all, I was very pleased with our experience and hope to return on a non-holiday visit.

Service was slow to start, then very thoughtful, but then would disappear for long periods then back again. The kitchen fortunately was fast and the food was very good (although bland beet salad). Good creme brulee.

Very attentive staff. Excellent meal, French inspired. Halibut was perfect. Duck not as tender as most but very tasty. Great creme brulee and chocolat fondant. Really nice cocktails.

I believe Chez Loma may be making a remarkable comeback. As a San Diego local since the mid-1980s, I fondly recall my father introducing me to this French staple in Coronado, which I believe was established in 1978. After several years of disappointing experiences, I had reluctantly placed it on my list of places to avoid due to subpar food and service.
However, yesterday, I decided to give Chez Loma one final chance. I reserved an outdoor table and was warmly welcomed by Valeria. Our server for the evening, Kevin, provided exceptional service, supported by the excellent teamwork of Miguel and Helmut. Rachid, the new manager, not only crafted superb martinis but has seemingly revitalized the restaurant to its former glory. The food, drinks, and ambiance were all outstanding.
My only suggestion would be to tailor the music selection more to the establishment’s atmosphere. While I appreciate Huey Lewis & The News and Guns N’ Roses, their music didn’t quite align with the restaurant’s vibe or clientele. Later in the evening, with the introduction of Sinatra and some classic Stéphane Pompougnac, the ambiance became much more fitting and enjoyable.
It was a perfect evening. I hope Chez Loma continues to uphold this standard for its loyal patrons.
Kudos once again to Kevin and Rachid for their exceptional efforts!

Everything was perfect last night Mom and I shared the beet salad and the prime rib with delicious French Fries. The service was fantastic. From the minute of arrival when the staff offered to assist with my mom due to her disability and wheelchair to the very last moment of our meal. The beet salad was wonderful. I would love to see maybe some goat cheese crumbles added and a few pine nuts instead of the frothy cream?? The meat was cooked to perfection!!! We ordered medium and it was tasty, juicy and tender. We had a glass of Prosecco and no dessert. It's a little expensive but, we feel we pay for not only food but, attention to customer, and beautiful ambiance.
