Lobster West Coronado Reviews
Dog friendly with outside seating.
We ordered two EPIC hot lobster rolls (Connecticut style, warm with butter) and although they were delicious, for the EPIC PRICE OF $39 PER ROLL, it was very skimpy compared to what you get for that price in New England. They stack it high in the middle and don’t fill the bun to the ends to make it look super full. It’s not. The New England clam chowder was great though.
I just enjoyed the BEST LOBSTER ROLL on the Planet. Whenever my Daughter and Husband visit LA, they drive all the way to San Diego for Lobster West. Today was my FIRST visit and I TASTED why they drive hours to frequent LW. LEO was absolutely AWESOME with an ASTERISK and nailed everything from professional customer service, genuine demeanor and made my visit A PLUS from Food to conversation, interaction and atmosphere. Feels like home
I’m a transplant from the East Coast and Lobsterwest transports me back. There’s nothing like their lobster. The prices are reasonable and the service is excellent. We enjoyed the feel of the place too. A small shop, much like what I’m used to on the East Coast.

Lobster West Coronado is a popular restaurant located off Orange Avenue. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, including lobster rolls, crab rolls, sides, and soups. The lobster roll is a standout, with fresh, chunky lobster meat and a delightful flavor. The Nor’easter, which includes lobster, crab, and shrimp, is also praised for its fantastic roll—crispy on the outside and soft inside without being greasy. The sides, such as baked beans, are well-liked, and the clam chowder is noted to be really good. While the Maryland crab soup may be a bit bland, the salad remains generous and delicious. The signature lobster rolls are fresh, buttery, and full of flavor, with soft, moist, and perfectly toasted bread that is great for dunking in clam chowder. The patio is dog friendly, making it a nice spot for groups and pets. The server is friendly and attentive, even when busy, and gluten-free options like a gluten-free bun are available. The atmosphere is cozy with both inside and outside seating, and the food is affordable, making it a great option for a meal on Coronado Island.
