This location is located a block from the beach. They have an outdoor patio too that has some self seating and some dinner tables. The outdoor has heaters that are turned on and a fire pit alongside the edge of the wall.
They have different staff such as the waiters and the buss staff and bar staff.
They also have a happy hour menu upon request
Additionally, we ordered the flatbread, filet mignon, and the wagyu steak with potatoes gratin and spinach. With the dinner, they provide a bread basket. The bread basket that came with dinner had these chips that had flavor.

Did the Valentine’s Day pre fix for 2 last weekend and left disappointed. The pre fixed menu was altered to remove items that were on it when I booked the reservation. (The seared A5 appetizer specifically). After letting our server know she giggled and said “that’s so weird” and offered no explanation. Furthermore, the ahi carpaccio was not available in lieu of the A5 as they had run out so they offered a sea bass carpaccio which I was then later told they were also out of. So I ended up with a salad. Spent over $600 on two people here for a steak and salad each with drinks. Steak was good but feel a bit bait and switched at the price point. To be out of 3 different first courses at 7pm on a pre fixed menu felt slimy. I don’t typically leave reviews about anything, but I definitely felt burned here. This restaurant has a ton of potential, the food we did receive was good but not what I had envisioned eating when I originally booked.
Attached a photo of the menu I thought we were getting.

Stake in Coronado delivers the kind of evening that reminds you why steakhouses still matter when they’re done right: confident cooking, a sense of occasion, and service that feels personal rather than transactional.
We sat on the rooftop during golden hour—umbrellas overhead, ocean air moving through the space, and the long fire feature lending the room that warm, flattering glow. It’s an atmosphere that’s upscale without being stiff, and it makes a normal dinner feel like a night out.
Food-wise, the kitchen leans into modern steakhouse elegance. The early plates were composed and clean—bright accents, smart texture, and sauces used with intention instead of drowning the protein. The skewers came out with a deep, savory char, and the mains landed with the confidence you want at this price point. Dessert closed the loop in classic steakhouse fashion: unapologetically rich chocolate with that “special occasion” flourish—plus a well-executed ice cream accompaniment that actually tasted like it belonged.
But the difference-maker was service, especially Paige, who managed to be warm, informed, and impeccably timed without hovering. She guided the pacing, checked in at the right moments, and handled the table the way great hospitality should—like you’re welcome, not like you’re being managed.
A Coronado staple for dates, celebrations, or hosting visitors who want a rooftop dinner that feels distinctly “San Diego.”

We headed to Stake Chophouse and Bar this past Monday to try their date night menu and it was such a fantastic experience. The place itself is gorgeous and chic with a really great vibe. Right from the start, the host was super welcoming, which is always a nice touch.
Our server Brian was an absolute delight! He was so engaging and knowledgeable, and he honestly made the night feel special. We added the lobster roll to our prefix menu and it was divine. The porterhouse and sides were also incredible—we left so happy and full. Make sure you save room for dessert because the crème brûlée and carrot cake were both so good.
The GM Jenny even stopped by to say hi and she was lovely. It’s clear they really care about their guests. All in all it was a wonderful night and I can’t wait to come back and sit by the fire on their patio!

Horrible service, waiter was Rude and Rushing because he was about to go on his Break. Ordered appetizers and they came when the food did. When we asked questions about the menu the waiter was very irritated and mad he had to explain. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

After a recommendation by friends, we were very disappointed in this restaurant. We arrived for our anniversary dinner without 2 friends and had a drink at the bar. While there we chose a good red wine and asked that it be opened, the waiter said yes. When we got to our table, our wine was sitting there unopened. The sommelier came to our table and stated she put the wine and glasses on the table, she did not know we wanted it opened. Throughout dinner we had to ask for our glasses to be filled, the water service was better than the wine service, for an upscale restaurant very poor.
We ordered ‘bone in ribeye, and a 16oz ribeye, 3 sides. When our steak arrived it was cold, cold. The sides very hot. Did they wait for the sides? No, they came out first.
Overall service, poor, our table was not cleared until we signaled. Dessert carrot cake was actually very good, but not enough for us to return or recommend.
Very disappointing anniversary dinner.

Excellent! Outstanding! We had a great meal and our server Jeremy was excellent. Very knowledgeable and led us through a great meal and overall experience.
This was our first time we were celebrating on when your anniversary and everything was spectacular from the food to the service to the ambience. I definitely recommend it.
My girlfriends and I were there celebrating our birthdays. We had a beautiful dinner that was delicious! They even brought out the biggest slice of chocolate cake for our celebration dinner. It was a perfect night!
Good place I recommend
