About El Campeon Carniceria #2

El Campeon Carniceria #2 is a small Mexican market and eatery located in Costa Mesa, offering a variety of fresh, authentic Mexican food and ingredients. It is often compared to the El Campeon in San Juan Capistrano, functioning as a smaller version with similar delicious food and friendly service. The market features hot food and a few small tables outside, making it convenient for quick meals. Their $2.50 street tacos are highly praised, especially the al pastor, carnitas, and pollo tacos, which are flavorful and taste incredibly fresh. Customers appreciate the homemade salsa and complimentary limes that enhance the flavors. The staff is generally friendly and welcoming, though some mention that speaking Spanish helps the experience, and there have been instances where non-Spanish speakers felt less treated well. Besides tacos, the market sells carnitas by the pound, although some reviews note the carnitas can sometimes be undercooked or lack crispiness. They also offer other items like enchiladas with mole sauce and ingredients for last-minute carne asadas, such as diesmillo and pollo preparado. While the food is consistently praised, some mention the absence of real al pastor roasts and limited beverage options like only horchata and agua de jamaica. Overall, El Campeon Carniceria #2 is a beloved local spot known for its authentic flavors, friendly service, and convenient market offerings.

Friendly staff!! Love the food 😋 😍

OMG this place is ridiculously good. All their ready made items like tacos or burritos were genuinely made with love, and I love em'...they take EBT, but hate to say $12.00 for a burrito, had $4.50 for taco. Little much if you ask me. But take one bite, and who cares about money this place rocks!

Authentic food taste great.
One on one service , yes they take care of your order one person.
