Jersey Mike's Subs in Costa Mesa

“I went in there today, in a funk. I spent 2 weeks in Florida taking care of my mother, she went through 4 surgeries and succumbing from the intensity of it. Mike who was at the counter started chatting with me, asking me how things are with me. I was still not used to the fact that my mother is no longer with me, but I didn't know how to answer the question other than to tell him what happened. He started telling me about his brother and how he knows the difficulty of losing a loved one. I don't really remember what happened next as much as I couldn't talk much, fumbling to pay. Mike took care of the situation, handled my confusion and distress with care and for that moment, treated me like a human being. He also got out of the counter and came to me to give me a hug. I couldn't help but cry and I appreciated the grace and kindness he showed me.

I know he isn't the real Jersey Mike but he embodied what the original Jersey Mike was about, getting to know the people you serve. You have me as a customer for life in this sandwich shop. God bless and in this age of division, I appreciated this moment.“
