Probably the best tonkatsu in socal. You can get different cuts of pork which usually only happens in Japan. The prices are extremely reasonable considering the quality of meat. Amazing quality and value, and really the go-to spot for quality tonkatsu outside of Japan.
Kagura is delicious. Their katsu is fresh and amazingly crispy, their sauce is deep and flavorful, and the service is amazing. Their response to an extremely minor mistake was to offer a free item and make the mistake right instantly. I will be back and I absolutely recommend Kagura to anyone looking for good Katsu in south OC.
I saw some 4-star reviews commenting on the lack of service. I have no idea what they’re talking about, as it was some of the best service I’ve ever received.
I entered the restaurant at 1pm on a Sunday and was immediately seated. A minute later, they took my order as they brought me my water. The food came out 5-10 minutes later, which was surprising given that the restaurant seemed to be at ~90% capacity.
