My husband has been on a search for a really good pastrami sandwich. He got it here. We went to 2 other places, was disappointed. But this Johnnie’s is the place, stacked pastrami on a roll, juicy. Served with a stack of pickle slices. I don’t like pastrami but it looked like a nice sandwich, I had a fish sandwich, the fish was plenty and it was filets, not a square patty. Lettuce, tomato. A very filling sandwich. Good food, very good service and friendly server.

Always
This place has great food and really there's never really a disappointment to go there. Except for The Times of changed when you would go there. The meat would be piling over and now they've cut back on that because of cost. Which is totally understandable due to The Times we were at these small mom and pop places like this need to make money. Then keep their customers happy.
I mean, it's really sad that we have that nowadays to pay $20 for a sandwich. That's not their fault. It's The Times we live in
So really my own complaint is time has changed things to where we have to pay through the nose for it. The food is great. The staff is fine. Pretty much on the ball. So what you have to say every once in a while, say, Hey, can I have my check? It was just part of life, Chinese pastrami keep up the good work. I'll keep coming back and I hope everybody else does too. Thank you for your years of service to the people. In los angeles

Johnny's pastrami has gone to hell. Their pastrami is Gray. It used to be pink now is Gray and shredded and chopped up, I will never go back there again. And the meat has no taste..$20.00 for B.S.!!

Old school place with good food. The French dip pastrami sandwich is very good. It comes pre-dipped so don’t expect a little bowl of au jus on the side. . Served with homemade pickles . They also have hamburgers and hotdogs and two really nice places to sit outside and an old time interior dating from the 1950s.

$21 for a full sized pastrami sandwich on a French baguette. It's a little pricey, but it is filled w meat so a friend and I split one along w some Tito's tacos, but the pastrami was the highlight. The pastrami was thinly sliced, easy to chew and not oily like most. Probably one of the best pastrami meat I've had.

Family has been eating here since the 70’s cool, old school LA
The old lady who works here is very rude they charge you for the items and then they try to say you didn't pay for them so they don't give you what you order and they won't even give you a receipt be careful when you order from this place and watch out for the old lady
