Hear me out, I'm from Texas so the bar is pretty high to begin with. But truly was disappointed unfortunately. I feel that the ribs were pretty dry but I'm also used to them falling off the bone. The chicken was okay. The brisket was definitely the better option. I went with a group so we order the feast for 7 people and I just wasn't impressed. The sausage wasn't good either /: and they don't give you nearly enough sauce for a feast of 7. Their cornbread was good! The sides were okay as well. The best were the potato salad and coleslaw but also how would you mess that up? Yea I don't know. I guess like my friends say for California bbq it's okay but I personally wouldn't go back /:

Here's a review for Maple Block: Maple Block never fails to impress with its delicious barbecue offerings, but their mashed potatoes with brisket inside stole the show for me. It's a shame that this mouthwatering dish was only a special because it absolutely deserves a permanent spot on the menu. The combination of creamy mashed potatoes and flavorful brisket is a match made in heaven. Hopefully, Maple Block considers adding it permanently to their already fantastic lineup.

Very good BBQ. Clean restaurant. Hearty sandwich and very good service. I would go back again if I was in the area.

Good food with flavor galore! Everything was cooked in a manner to bring taste to the forefront of one's tasting experience.

It's not always easy to find solid barbecue in Los Angeles. However I think Maple Block does a great job at bringing a lot of those dishes together with a trendy interpretation. I really loved the biscuits and I think that they are one of the best things there. The sandwich was a decent size and with a side of Mac and cheese, they both had a lot of flavor. The location is a bit random but the inside and overall space is really cozy and has a decent amount of room. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly and attentive with all of our food and drinks. Overall, if you're looking for some barbeque, this will most likely satisfy that craving!

The food wasn’t great. Brisket was extremely dry, like shockingly dry. It was also kind of tough and I couldn’t just pull it apart. The food is also just outrageously expensive here. $8 for a bowl of beans (probably from a can) is absurd. $4+ per biscuit, $8 for pickles, etc. I think I went during happy hour and a beer also ended up being cheaper than a soda by about .25c, which is extremely odd. Their menu is the most confusing and poorly designed menu I’ve ever seen in my life. I can see they serve burgers, but not on the menu? Where is the option for a plate of food? Also nothing comes with your order. Fries? $6. Pickles? Way too many for $8. I asked the waiter if he’d think one order of pickles for one person was enough and he had no clue. He brings it out and it’s way too many for one person. The tables are too close together and people start staring at you, the waiters are incompetent, the design of this restaurant isn’t anything special (black hanging lights, wood tables, typical “new-age” modern), but the atmosphere is hard to pay attention to when you’re stuffed between people. Also the service isn’t very good. They don’t check up on you that much. When you’re done with your meal and want to pay, you have to immediately pay when the server comes up to you with one of those Square credit card machines. So you immediately pay, and then it asks for a tip of course. My waiter was barreling down staring at me waiting for me to click 20% and it was so awkward. This was the same waiter who almost made me spend $16 on *pickles* and didn’t provide great service, so I gave him 18%. Immediately he asks me if everything was alright in a very concerned tone. I mean cmon, you’re gonna ask me AFTER I don’t tip you 20%? Felt shady and weird.Would I go back? Maybe one more time. Wouldn’t recommend it though. This place will close within 3 years, I guarantee it. There’s way better choices to go to.

I used to love this place but several things have changed. The bbq sauce on the brisket has changed. It is no longer properly balanced. The pick up area staff are confused and give the wrong change. Overall disappointing.

Food: -Brisket is beyond mediocre. Dry, cold, and borderline bad. -Chicken Wings are flavorless, rubbery, and flaccid. Ambiance -The music they play is horrific. They blast the most audaciously terrible sounds at you while you attempt to eat. Horrible, horrible music. The genre changes with every track yet the quality of the music choices remains the same. -Interior lighting is extremely bright and offensive. The restaurant is like being in a light bulb store. The positive reviews seem to be from people who have never eaten barbecue before. The servers are cursorily nice but don't check on you at any point during the meal (even when restaurant is empty) until it is time to pay. This place sucks.

As a long-time Maple Block customer, I am disappointed by my recent Easter visit. Despite occasional service issues, my interactions have generally been positive. However, during brunch on Easter, a server's reaction to a simple request left me shocked and embarrassed. The incident, witnessed by other diners, was unsettling. The manager apologized and comped our meal, but the experience has soured my opinion of the restaurant. Such treatment is unprecedented in my dining experiences, and I will no longer patronize or recommend Maple Block.

Super disappointing food. Bland and served just about warm. Almost no flavour.

3.5 stars I got their Trifecta plate which includes 3 meats and 2 sides. The ribs were decent, but the meat itself was a bit dry and wasn't juicy as i thought it would be. Shredded pork was just okay, nothing special. Their mac n cheese was good though, it wasn't too heavy and had the right amount of cheese in it. The beans were a good compliment to the ribs as well. For the price, I didn't really think the quality and taste was worth it. On the bright side, they have a small parking in the back.

Had another amazing lunch here today , the pulled pork sandwich is the bomb , our server Mason was so friendly and helpful, the old fashioned cocktail was tasty and perfect for a casual Friday . The chocolate bread pudding is the best dessert I have ever had! I am planning on them catering my birthday this year!
