The food at Shikibu is top notch! From the fresh sushi and sashimi to the appetizers, green tea and desserts, everything is very fresh and artfully presented. Every dish is very nostalgic for the time I've spent in Japan. The atmosphere is very cozy and personal and offers direct interaction with Chef Thomas as he creates every dish.

What a special spot! The sushi is delicious, and is different from what I’ve had previously since they use brown rice. It’s made with great care and the service is friendly and fast. I look forward to going back soon! We especially loved the miso soup, crispy rice plate, and all of the nigiri, but everything we tried was great.Parking: Street parking meters (free after hours)

This hole-in-the-wall sushi spot has so much character and definitely deserves 5 stars. All the indoor seats are at the bar, making it a more intimate experience, which I liked. Signs are posted all around teaching you about the chef, the sushi, the tea. I loved it! The miso soup was great and we were big fans of the brown rice sushi - it had a great texture. Glad we chose this spot for our date night!

A true hidden gem of the area. I was admittedly skeptical when I saw that they primarily (only?) serve brown-rice sushi, but the sushi is incredible! Very limited seating so may be tough to get a seat on a busy night. But if there’s a wait it’d be well worth it.

Great brown rice sushi spot... Very pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, but it's quite small, so we usually get take out.

A great place for a simple, quick, not-heavy, sushi-centric lunch. It’s not cheap but you feel like what you pay for is coming through in the freshness and quality of ingredients. If you like sushi at all, don’t sleep on this place.

Amazing sushi, crafted with care. Very small inside, great for a party of 1-2. Sushi bar with a few small tables outside.

Food was decent. Sushi rolls was filled with a lot of rice. Bar is small! There’s about 5-6 bar seats. Maybe better to order to go!

When I say the food here is immaculate and divine, I truly mean it! Fresh nigiri and toppings just bursting with flavor. When I walked in I felt transported to Japan instantly. This place is ran by an adorable husband and wife, it's very tiny inside, only has about 6 bar stools, and two pop up table tops outside. The husband prepared the food while the wife provided excellent service to each guest. The hospitality was unmatched, so kind and attentive. The hot green tea was soothing and rejuvenating with every sip. I went home telling my partner that I just had the best nigiri of my life... and ya girl is a foodie... hats off to this restaurant! I envy anyone who lives in proximity to this place.

Absolute hidden gem. If you can find time during their open hours, it's definitely worth the visit

Shikibu is AMAZING! I love this little hole-in-the wall restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is amazing. Their specialty is sushi with brown rice. The sushi will wow you with every bite. I loved everything I tried from their specialties, truffle roll and nigiri. It's unique and made special with each piece. For drinks, you have to get the hot or iced green tea. Their tea is so yummy! This spot is pricey, so be ready to pay for what you get. This spot is owned and operated by a husband and wife. They're so nice and sweet! This is a small restaurant. There is seating indoor and outdoor the restaurant but very limited amount of seats. Inside, they can fit only 6 people. Parking is on the street in front of the restaurant. I would definitely recommend this place to other people!

Coming here is like stepping into a world away, I have yet to visit Japan but I imagine going to eat at a neighborhood spot would be much like stepping into this tiny gem of a sushi spot. It's literally 6 seats inside and one table outside on the sidewalk for larger parties. It's run by a husband and wife duo who's stories are wonderful (and posted on a little sign for you to read). They use brown sushi rice and only provide you with soy sauce in little spray bottles as well as instructions on the propper etiquette of sushi eating. Definitely get the chef's sushi flight special, you won't be disappointed!

The sweetest little place. Reasonable prices, good quality fish and this specialty Chewbacca roll was amazing. Can't go wrong with the spicy tuna crispy rice too.
