Sorrento is the real deal. My first stop after landing at LAX (except Monday or Tuesday)! Great sandwiches and snacks and authentic Italian treats. Staff is really helpful and friendly, too.

Terrible customer service , walked in and was not greeted it was my first time there so I asked where I could order a sandwich the guy in the front got an attitude . They sent me to the back where I ordered a sandwich from a rude old man . Not my fault he's 5 feet tall and mad at life. White couple walked in after me and was greeted. They were also first time customers , The racist little hobbit had plenty of smiles and conversation for them . Sandwich was mid at best , do yourself a favor and take the drive to Bay Cities .

Great local Italian market with all the staples - 00 flour, guanciale, nduja, etc. also amazing and varied selection of regional Italian wines. Sandwiches are solid and have never tried their prepared foods but those look good as well. Always a treat to pay this place a visit!

We finally got a chance to stop during one of our trips to Culver City and we are definitely glad we did! We got parking in the back. I do use a cane so walking through some of the store was a little more challenging because the isles are not super wide, and there are a lot of products on the shelves that I was worried about bumping although I really had plenty of room. Also, the floors had mats everywhere so I did have to watch my step but again it was fine and would not bother most people at all. It's just something I have to live with, so I do notice things like that. It definitely will not deter me from coming back. They had a really good selection of Italian packaged sauces, pastas, cookies, Olives, jams, coffee, and just about anything else you might want. But the big draw for us was the deli section. We got a hot beef and pepper sandwich, hot meatball sandwich, and a cold combination sandwich, along with some pasta and some miniature cannoli. I was planning to look at the sides a little more closely, but we got there right before the lunch rush and there was a long line forming in the deli line so I didn't feel like I should hold up the line. They had a lot of really nice looking cookies as well in the bakery section and I will have to get some of those next time for sure. Since it was a wet windy day we drove up the hill to a scenic spot to eat lunch. The large sandwich was very large could not eat it all even though I was starving. Everything was very good. I absolutely loved the pasta and the cannoli. Everyone working there was very friendly and the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be stopping again on our next trip and have recommended this place to everyone.

Ok, my review is specific to their deli. Went there with my kid for lunch since I wanted a nice Italian style sandwich. We ordered the chicken parmigiana sub and a cold sandwich with salami and pepperoni. First of all, the customer service wasn't there. Told the lady it was our first time and she did not care for it. When we ordered the Cold sub, she started prepping it without even asking what kind of meats my kid wanted. We had to interrupt her. He wanted only lettuce + the meats. When we unwrapped the sandwich, to our surprise there was no lettuce in it. My chicken parmigiana sandwich was no better. The breading was mushy, the tomato sauce was mid and in general the taste of the sub was less than ordinary. The bread was simple white bread nothing special. The prices are not bad but for $14-15 per item I would expected more specially being that this is one of the few Italian markets in the area. I have been to other Italian places and this is not what I wanted to experience. You are better off going across the street to Capriotti's or Jersey Mikes for that matter if you want some flavor, customization and warm service. One and done for me. Overall, disappointing. Will not return.

Great deli and grocery selection ?

Delicious sandwich! This is my boyfriends moms childhood sub place and she recommended this was good. Prices are affordable and inside you can get all the Italian goods/ingredients. Tried the combination sandwich and really enjoyed the sauce inside (mayo, mustard, and tomato sauce) the deli meats were fresh.

This market seems frozen in time... Looks exactly as I remember it from 20+ years ago. I recently went in to order a pastrami sandwich... It was nothing like I remember from years ago. Only one choice of bread (white), only plain mustard, poor choice of add ons, and the meat was low quality and with lots of fat. Too bad.

I have been here a few times and just not enjoyed it. Things are bland and boring. There is nothing unique about this and it survives solely on nostalgia. So many wonderful places in this city and the area so this should be your last stop.

I've been going to this market for over a decade. My family and I are always greeted with a warm welcome. As soon as you walk into Sorrento Italian Market, it feels like walking into a time capsule. A beautifully frozen tableau of a good old fashion mom and pop shop from the 60's. The wooden shelves are stocked with an assortment of delicious Italian canned olives, pastas, and desserts. When you circle around the uniquely display case showcasing freshly made Italian desserts on one side of the store, then as you turn the corner you'll find pastas and other amazing side dishes such as Albert's incredible cabbage salad mixed with celery and marinated in with their family olive oil. Sounds simple, but it is absolutely one of my favorite dishes and it's healthy! Win-win! It's doesn't end there! As you finish up on that side of the display case, you continue around the other side where you order from their cold and hot menu of delectable freshly cooked past and sandwiches. My son's favorite is the pastrami sandwich. Every time I have family come into town, this is wonderful treat for them. Not only is the food amazing, but it's the experience! Also, because I'm gluten and dairy free, I appreciate the gluten free pastas they sell. Overall, this is a hidden gem and MUST if you're passing by or want to add somewhere special to your fav places to shop or eat out!!!

Great shop for everything Italian foods, but the hours of operation are ridiculous. They close way too early. Every time I go by they're always closed. Too bad, they are missing out on a lot of revenue.

What a truly incredible gem! Some of the most unique and varied grocery items - imported flours, coffees, cookies, olives, dozens of tomato products, juices (including apricot which is everywhere in Italy but not so much here!), and an amazing selection of fresh cookies, deli, and hot food! And a BIG thank you to Steve for helping me pick a wine - the Umbrian pick paired perfectly with the short ribs just as you said! Fabulous store - can't wait to come back.
