The restaurant does not equip itself with noise absorbing furniture. The environment is full of children’s screaming and mommies’ yelling. I order one Roasted Tofu Pot and one plate of Fried Seafood noodles. If I were not running out of time, I would asked the server to exchange to my original order when he served me a plate of flat noodles. The ingredients the flavor are almost the same; except for 2 pieces of pawns and one squid ring. The flavor fits local Americans. None of the food was authentic Chinese, except the names.

One of the worst taiwanese food I’ve had in the bay area. Food is bland, and xiao long bao had detergent-like taste.

Very delicious soup dumplings and extremely competitive prices... especially in Silicon Valley!

This place is spacious inside. If you come during peak time, there's usually a line. Their food comes quickly, so the wait usually isn't too bad.

The XLB is juicy inside and the dumpling size is bigger than Ding Tai Fung's. I'd say the skin is as thin and comparable to Ding Tai Fung's too. We tried all three kinds: the regular pork ones, pork with crab meat, and the shrimp with loofah squash. They're all good.

The flavor of the three-cup chicken is good, however, too many bones. They chopped the chicken with bones and there were fragmented bone pieces. You'll need to be careful when eating this dish.

Their steamed beef dumplings are good, but a bit on the salty side.

The sliced beef and cucumber roll with green onion pancake is so-so. Only has one thin slice of beef and there's not enough meat inside, compared to other restaurants I tried.

Their fried rice are tasty. We tried a few before and they're all decent. The picture below is the Sakura Shrimp fried rice and it's very flavorful without being too salty.

The steamed sole fish (filet) is surprisingly good. Worth a try if you haven't ordered this before, and no fish bones!

Their scrambled eggs with prawns is good. A lot of prawns and tasty eggs. A good protein dish.

Their sauteed veggies are pretty good too. We tried the sauteed A-choy and bitter melon with garlic. Both dishes are decent.

The boiled tofu with house special sauce is excellent.

If you don't want to wait for long line at Ding Tai Fung, this is the place to come. Of course if you want way better (Americanized) service, go to Ding Tai Fung. This service at this place is like typical authentic Chinese restaurants, don't expect too much.

Was craving soup dumplings so we came to this spot. Got A2, Juicy pork dumplings w/ crab meat. E6, Mongolian cumin beef and K8 seafood and pork chow mein.

All were great but for sure the favorite was the soup dumplings. Easily could have ordered extra and only this dish if we didn’t want variety.

Parking: I would assume the parking can get bad on weekends. Weekday easy to park.

Thank you very much for being kindly reminded that loofah is a bit bitter. The service attitude is good, the condensed milk steamed buns are delicious, they taste just like home ~ a very considerate little restaurant!

Good place for Taiwanese food if you’re feeling homesick. The flavors a pretty a like what I had in Taiwan. I’d not recommended pan fried pork buns though, the dough was soggy and the bottom wasn’t crisp. It’s a pity that Joy Dumpling does not take Amex.

Maybe the boss has changed.
The food is very unauthentic Taiwanese food.
It should be said that it is Chinese food, not Taiwanese food.
But the clerk's service is good.
If you want to eat Taiwanese food, I suggest you not come here, you will be disappointed.
The picture is seafood fried noodles. The so-called seafood is just shrimps and clams, and the noodles are not oil noodles. They are different from those in Taiwan. I treat them as plain noodles (a bunch of mushrooms).
