XLB is a favorite local spot among locals kin the San Jose/Cupertino area. We like to order the Mongolian Beef, Chicken Fried Rice, and Pork XLB Dumplings. Today, we tried out the Dan-Dan noodles. The food tasted like authentic cuisine, including a pot of complimentary green tea.
It is a bit on the pricier side, though it feels like the quality of food is just about worth it.

XLB Kitchen is hands down one of the best spots in the area for soup dumplings (XLB). The dumplings are packed with incredibly flavorful, umami-rich soup that bursts with every bite—it’s hard to find XLBs this good elsewhere! Besides their stellar soup dumplings, their braised tofu is another standout dish, with a rich, savory flavor. If you’re into spicy food, don’t miss the Chongqing chicken—it’s got the perfect level of heat and crunch. The bamboo pork is another must-try, deliciously tender and packed with flavor.
The patio seating is a great bonus, making it a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Chinese food!

We enjoyed the mapo tofu and dumplings. The pork bun is good, too but the dumplings were preferable.
We’ve been going to XLB for years and they have some of the best Shanghainese cuisine in the area.
Their ingredients are always fresh and they can accommodate changes for dietary restrictions. I always order their dishes meat free, as I am pescatarian at non-halal restaurants. We also order takeout because the restaurant is slightly small and they are always busy.
Before I went pork free, they had some of the best xiao long bao. My family still enjoys it but looking for a restaurant outside of LA that provides these options 😊
This place will chase you down if you try to leave a tip below 15%. That's hilarious. - Jess / Donnie ❤️

I have been coming here for a couple of months now, love the food. My favorites include xlb, dumplings, wonton and the combination fried rice.

Outdoor seating in the shade was nice. The XLB was on the sweet side, but good. The combination fried rice was highly recommended, but it was a disappointment. The beef was very starchy. The older waitress was very grumpy. I hope her day will get better.
Parking: There were space when the restaurant opens, but can fill up quickly.
