Mitsuwa Marketplace opened in Cypress in early November 2025. The new location is close to Long Beach and serves the local community. The market is small, but it has many Asian pantry staples. The food court is on the right side of the market and offers reasonably priced sushi and other prepared foods. Santouka Ramen is the most popular spot. Other vendors include a kaisen bowl and an omusubi (rice ball) vendor that is highly recommended. The market has gift shops on the left, such as Royce, Hattendo, and Yamari Matcha.

Customers report that the shelves are often half empty, even two weeks after opening. Some meat packs are small and prices are average, but a few items are expensive. A few visits have found sashimi that was a day past its sell by date, and there were empty shelves during the opening weekend. Some reviewers say parking can be very difficult. The food court has clean seating and friendly staff, and earlier complaints about flies have been resolved. The produce section leaves a lot to be desired, and leaf greens are less fresh than at other locations. Despite these issues, many customers appreciate the convenience of an authentic Japanese marketplace nearby and recommend the store.
