YGF Malatang in Serramonte Food Court was a junior Tang Bar, with the same selection of meat and veggies to choose from in a big plastic bowl. When it comes to hot pot buffets like this one, I definitely had to have jue root noodles. Hopefully the noodles I chose weren't starchy, but they're never gluten free. Plus, I chose the blood tofu to show I'm brave enough to consume what's exotic, not fully vegan. Since I had to avoid any spicy levels, I chose the tomato soup (sweet and sour). The price for my hotpot bowl depends on how much I fill up the big plastic bowl I'm holding, which is a fair price. The service was pretty decent as well as the small but cute space. Wonder if my whole family will do the same the next time we visit the food court.

The food is delicious, but the girl cashier kept playing with her phone and was very arrogant towards me until I placed the food on the scale.

I went there yesterday to get my fix of malatang which is a self serve bar that has many different food items you pick and go to the counter where you pick your flavor and have the servers cook it for you. It should come out to be a bowl of deliciousness that you picked. Unfortunately the taste wasn't really good and the broth was very mediocre. It's usually my go to comfort food , but this one just didn't hit the spot. I usually go to another place in San Mateo or the stonestown gallery. I believe it's a different brand . But this one just didn't taste that good and the condiments weren't very fresh looking. The place was very small in the food court and lots of things needed refill.

Just bought food here. Gave 1 star because of the food. Minus 4 star for the service. Lady named Simin looks like she doesn't want to be there. Customer service is nonexistent. Won't be surprised if this franchise will close soon.

The food is not bad but the cashier working there needs to learn about customer service. Smiling would've made my experience there a little more enjoyable.

Ordered the tomato flavor soup with fish balls and ramen. The tomato soup was so so. Ramen was ok but the price is a little high for the quality. The laksa has a better soup

It tastes terrible. It's better than Lao Ganma's if I boil the white soup at home and mix the ingredients.

Food is delicious.?

Asked for additional saran wrap or a an additional bag cause my broth was literally leaking all over the bag and the amount of attitude was insane. I understand you want a steam hole but I would like my car to not be covered in soup. The lady at the register was so incredibly condescending. She did end up giving it to me but she basically threw it at me.

After wandering around the streets with no idea what to eat, we headed straight to Yang Guo Fu. The taste was exactly the same as in China, and the prices were fair. Paired with soda, it was a delicious treat. Ever since I had it in school, I have always stuck with Yang Guo Fu. Even though we arrived late, the service was still exceptional.

Located insider the serramonte mall food court so parking was no issue.Got a bowl and went thru the food tray areas to pick what I liked. Quail egg, tripe, fatty beef, bamboo, filled meatball, veggies, noodles, etc.Afterward the bowl is weighed, $14 per lb.You pick the way you want it cooked and pay.I chose the "mellow spicy mixing" which has a little numbing pepper kick to it and more dry as i did not want soup. After my order was called, I get to add cilantro, green onion, garlic, sesame sauce for free.I thought the flavor was great, would be nice if they mixed the sauce better.Overall not cheap but a fun place for lunch.

This place is actually pretty good that i went there three times within two weeks. First time, i got the mild broth. It was so flavorful. 2nd time, i got the tomato broth, which was perfect for me since I'm not a fan of spicy food. The third time it was tomato broth again! When you get there, pick up a bowl and a tong to select your ingredients u want for your dish. I selected fatty beef, enoki mushroom, fish balls, lobster balls, and spinach for all three times that i went there. Next you bring your bowl to the cashier, and the cashier weighs your bowl... The weight of the bowl is not counted into the weight, so dont worry about that. You will be charged 14.99$ per pound... My total cost each of the three times that i went was around 20 to 21$. Next the cashier takes your bowl of ingredients and ask you what broth you would like. The cashier brings your bowl of ingredients to the back kitchen and they cook the bowl for you. Overall i enjoyed the experience and food. Recommend it if you like hot pot!

Broth was lacking in savory richness, tasted like premade broth powder adding water. Decent food selection. Overall a mediocre malatang restaurant.Prefer another malatang in that area.
