Good tasting ramen. Flavor is quite rich. A little plain in terms of toppings. A little pricy for the amount. Overall would recommend.

Probably one of the best ramen spots in Daly City. But they are very skippy on the toppings. Literally two pieces of bamboo shoot, half a sheet of nori and three tiny pieces of black fungus isn’t going to cut it. I know times are tough with this economy but they should be more generous with their toppings. Maybe that’s why they only have two or three customers everytime I visit.

Yokohama Iekei Ramen is a solid, no frills ramen spot that keeps things simple.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and it felt like the kind of place that might be run by the owners themselves, which adds a nice personal touch.

The ramen comes out hearty and filling, with portions that lean on the large side. It is definitely the kind of bowl that sticks with you. That said, the overall flavor landed somewhere in the middle. Good enough to enjoy, but not especially memorable.

Parking is a bit of a trade off. You can park for free in the garage next door, which is a big plus since street parking is almost nonexistent. The only catch is the short walk, which feels just a little longer than expected when all you want is a hot bowl of ramen.

It is a comfortable spot with kind service and a filling meal, even if the ramen itself does not quite stand out.

The owners had a second location in Union City. That location was moved to Fremont after 2020. That location was closed two years ago and I've been missing their ramen. They make a ramen in four level of spice A, B, C, and D. I enjoy hot peppers and a level B is spice affirming without being fatigued. The level C is a challenge and the one time I had it I decided it was a therapeutic level of spice. I have never tried D level and likely never will.

I miss having this ramen in the Eastbay but I'm glad it is still available.

Pretty good ramen but small portions for the price.

I stopped by here for lunch before my movie and thought it’d be worth a try considering it was right next to the theater.

They have a good amount of options for food and also let you customize things like broth richness, spice level, and noodle firmness.

I got the Black Garlic Ramen and it came very quickly. It comes with an ok amount of noodles, a soy sauce egg, two small pieces of chashu, and some toppings, though for almost $20 I expected more of the non-protein toppings.

Broth was pretty flavorful and the noodles had a nice texture. Not the most exceptional bowl I had, but perfectly passable as a neighborhood choice.

Good Ramen, more expensive than it’s probably worth, but still enjoyable.

We wanted a good, quick bowl of ramen and that’s just what we got here at Yokohama Iekei . Parking is very convenient as there’s a big lot just steps away from the restaurant and the interior is simple and cozy with great service. They offer some decent variety in bowls although we opted for their classic tonkotsu and shio ramens. The bowls are priced a bit higher but the food is certainly good which offsets that a bit.

Our bowls came very quick, we’re talking about just over 5 min or so for a party of 4 which was impressive. The food itself was pretty good considering the quick preparation. The tonkotsu broth is rich and deep with above average chashu that brings the bowl a little pop of flavor. The shio ramen is also nice and savory and comes with thick noodles unlike the tonkotsu’s thin noodles. The thick noodles are definitely better with a better chew so opt for those if you come in. The toppings are good, specifically the bamboo shoot but two areas they could improve on is the soft boiled egg, it felt a bit lacking in seasoning, and the setting. The price of the bowl was a bit high considering it felt like a very casual place to dine at. It’s by no means a bad setting, it’s just at that price point it didn’t feel like it aligned. Still, Yokohama Iekei is a good ramen place that’s more on the casual side, probably better suited for a casual date or hangout than any dinner or special night.

Hokkaido miso ramen.

The meat is extremely salty. Lots of noodles, very firm. It's quite spicy even without asking to add spice. The soup is spicy enough that that was all I tasted?

I recommend cutting the eggs in half, improve presentation, and really cut down on the salt+spice.

Yokohama Iekei is an authentic ramen restaurant. Both the chef and staff spoke Japanese. I had the black garlic ramen $18 with heavy soup and normal noodles texture. The toppings were garnishes. Tiny single pieces of green onion, fungus, bamboo and the dried seaweed was cut onto a small triangle with nothing below the soup level. The pork was good. It fell apart when I used my chop sticks on it on. The garlic pork broth had a slight bitter taste and a mild sweet aftertaste. On the tables, there are condiments like dried garlic flakes to customize the taste. It will add to the weak garlic broth. The ramen felt like the ones from the food carts (yatai) in Japan. In terms of size, I was still hungry when I left. Service was fast and friendly.
