Food was ok / average...expected better for all the 5 store reviews. Espresso martini was watered down. Did the job to feed my family dinner quickly.
I popped in late in the evening, but Mario politely seated me and immediately tended to my needs. Service was prompt, the carbonara was some of the best I've had, and the quiet atmosphere was wonderful. I will certainly go again!
I recently went there for dinner after not being there for many years I was pleased that they allowed my small pet to be on the patio and my server was wonderful. Very attentive. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan and it was absolutely terrible. It was like eating baby food. There was no consistency to it way overcooked I told them this and they didn’t even offer anything else or Take it off my bill. I don’t think I will ever go back.
Food and service ousting, Raquel when out her way to make sure we had a very pleasant evening.
Thank you Raquel! First time visitors but we'll be back. Delicious and such fast and great service.
Always have the best service. Love sitting in the booth in the bar. Grateful they hooked it up again. Nobody beats that martini on happy hour!!!!!!
Great service from wait staff. All meals were served at the same time. Food was tasty but my rigatoni scallops were a little too salty. Otherwise other guests in the party enjoyed their dishes.
Food was absolutely amazing we had the Caprese Salad and Garlic Bread to begin with. The Caprese tomatoes were perfectly ripe. Garlic bread was perfectly crisp. Our entree's were Chicken Fettuccini had a good amount of garlic and rich in flavor. My favorite were the spinach ravioli on a bed of spinach with butter sauce. They were amazing so much flavor, would definitely return for the food. The waitress lacked personality, did her job as far as taking our order and it was accurate but zero personality. A smile would have been a good start.
Went for an early Mother's Day dinner. The service & food were very good. With tip the bill was just shy of $100. That included one drink, pizza bianco, eggplant off the happy hour menu & we split a Cesar salad. Eating out has gotten way too expensive to do it other than special occasions.
This was our first visit but we will definitely be back! The service was perfect from the moment we entered. Very attentive all the way through the meal! The decor and ambiance was very cozy, a bit old world and elegant. The food definitely lives up to the service and feel of the restaurant! 10/10!

Looking for a cozy, romantic spot in Dana Point?
Casanova Ristorante is must in South Orange County for a charming Italian aesthetic, rich pasta / pizza / antipasti and an incredible wine list. Whether you’re inside soaking up the moody, wine bar aesthetic or enjoying the fresh air on the patio—every bite feels like a little trip to Italy.
Oh and don’t skip dessert!!! The crème brûlée is divine.
Amazing food! Great team!
We had a wonderful Italian dinner at Casanova! Chicken parmigiana and spaghetti bolognese were delicious . The house Chianti was perfect . Great food and service . We will be coming back !
We love Casanova's and especially Raquel (spelling?). This night we were celebrating the chance to share the news of our first pregnancy with my parents. It feels like Casanova's is stepping it up recently, even though we've always loved it. The fried calamari was a table wide hit as well as the garlic bread. The girls had chicken picata. I always order bolognese add meatballs and my Dad had a shrimp pasta dish that never stood a chance. He loved it. Excited to get back soon. Thank you Casanova's
