This is our go-to post surf tacos. My favorite here is the special octopus tacos and the husband the birria tacos. We ordered a side of tater tots for $1.50. If you haven’t been, go. If you’re a sports guy, they have TV with sports, service is fast and it’s our perfect post surf spot.
As of July 3, 2026 - Happy Hour is 2pm to 6pm, Monday-Friday. I wish they had a better website with more information, but maybe this review will help others who need to know.

La Barra offers a fun ambiance with comfortable booths and a variety of drink options. The menu may need updating, but the food is delicious, with highlights like the best El Pastor tacos and Quesabirria tacos. Customers enjoy the Super Nachos, Octopus Tacos, and enjoy the Classic Michelada and Aguachiles, though some felt there could be more shrimp in the Aguachiles. The loaded fries received mixed reviews due to warm avocado. Chips and salsa are a hit, and the excellent skinny margaritas are made by Victor. Whether for a quick bite or Happy Hour, La Barra is a reliable choice, perfect for a meet-up before or after visiting Doheny State Beach. The service is generally good, with some customers noting helpful staff, although they may not always be super attentive.
