“What a beautiful restaurant, overlooking the ocean and outside were fire pits and hanging lights. We watched the sail boats pass by and the sun slowly set. The food was absolutely delicious and the dessert was of Michelin starred quality. Our booking was at 5.30 and we left at 8.30 - the service was very slow - we'd been there half an hour before our food order was taken. And every course was slow to arrive. The staff were incredibly friendly and chatty. Would recommend as long as you don't mind a slow evening.“
“The atmosphere is very nice and comfortable, the service was excellent, and the food was superb. We started out with a buffalo mozzarella and tomato in an age, balsamic vinegar, and then shared an Osso Buco entrée between my wife and I. One of the best Osso Buco we have ever had. And my wife and I are foodies.“
“We dined on Jan 19 and it was a great dinner! The host was super polite and friendly and our server Brandon I hope I'm saying it correctly was super great and knowledgeable and kind! We had salmon tartar , calamari and the fish and chip was super delicious! Definitely recommend and will be coming back!“
“A rare, true beach bar in California. One of the best gems on the coast, everybody, there is so cheerful and very polite. Drinks and food are wonderful . Views are stunning -best service by far-Complete with surf music and right off the sand. Watch, surfers and dolphins and occasional whales while drinking your favorite cocktail, does it get any better?“
“Amazing service, fabulous food!! Enjoy our meal! Love the asparagus fries...one of the best linguini and clam sauce I ever had!! Best tiramisu too! Only concern is that the bathroom needs to be checked in on more frequently...a bit dirty. The restaurant could use a little bit of an update...but will certainly return soon!!~“
“Our meal here was absolutely fantastic... We tried the hummus and liver pate appetizers to start, our companions had the salmon and we tried the lemon sole and lamb(the Volcano). Everything was so delicious and beautifully presented. Great service and yes one could carry on a conversation...“
“Food, u can find better in grocery store cold section.Service, u may found one of two good waiter. But the rest, lol.But If ur correct skin color, i think you may get better service. I was there for one hour waiting for my food and check. Waiters treat different people very differently.View, my hotel room has a better view.“
“This restaurant specializes is poki bowls (rice base with sushi). It’s kinda a build your own, with choices for rice, the sushi, and the toppings. The food is extraordinary, fresh, and very tasty. The rice is a bit underwhelming, but still very good. The location is a bit of a hole in the wall, with minimal parking, a liquor store next door (in case you really need that drink!), and a sign for “tattoos”. I’m not really sure if they do Tattoos here, but maybe? Or maybe it’s just an inside joke? This is the place you come to and order to go. While they do have tables in the parking lot, I’m not sure I want to eat next to running cars in a filthy parking lot…“
“We needed to find a place last minute to host a small baptism dinner in Dana point and we are from SanDiego area, I was looking online and found this Gem!!! Not only were they accommodating and very patient the whole staff there were great!! They were all happy and polite. The food came out at perfect timing. All the guests were happy and kept saying how they enjoyed themselves. The food was Delicious (prosciutto flatbread) was my favoritethe desserts were good too! The prices were very reasonable The atmosphere was perfect for the occasion. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town can't wait to try their breakfast menu and one of those cupcakes!“
“It was a great experience overall, I got the warmest welcome from the staff. They attended to my every need and were intuitive to my other needs I did not verbalize. I wanted to take a picture of my special day but was too shy to ask. The wait staff offered to help me take a picture. I appreciated the thought to detail. I felt very welcome, the drive was well worth it!“
“Our visit started off a little rough in the lounge for a drink before dinner. Our server was inexperienced and wasn't very friendly and made mistakes with drink orders. After a drink, we moved to the dining room for dinner, and our server was awesome. Our meals were delicious and the view of the marina was nice. The restaurant is clean but a little dated and due for renovation.“
“Great happy hour values! $5.00 bubbles! The green chill fries @ $8.00 were amazing. The pork was very flavorful and delicious. Only con was it was very noisy. We were sat on the patio next to the street. Lots of revving engines. Our server Kelsey was great! We'll be back!“
“I haven't been to Lupe's in a few months - and I was surprised by the changes inside! New comfortable booths, laminated menus, and more drink options. The food came out quickly and was delicious as always, I got the carnitas taco and carne asada. My tamarind margarita was a perfect balance of tamarind and tequila, and the side of guac and chips hit perfectly. I'll be back again!“
“If you haven't been to the Waldorf Astoria during the holidays, you really have to go and experience. We decided to have cocktails and nibbles right by the fireplace at 33 north . we had the entire sofa to ourselves and the fireplace right at our backs the staff our waiter was so kind and so friendly and so attentive.. we enjoyed the grilled Caesar salad and the braised short rib quesadilla. Delicious.!!! This is a pricey place to have a cocktail and nibbles, however, I will say it is worth it especially during the holidays. It's really delightful. We got there early to walk around the property and just take all of the holiday joy. This is one of our go to places.“
“Restaurant with a beautiful view of the Dana Point Marina. Food is delicious. Scallops were seared beautifully and fish was blackened nicely. First time ever eating Mexican oysters and they were good! Make a reservation for sunset time and ask for a window seat by the water.Parking: Large free parking lot by the marina.Wheelchair accessibility: Stairs all over so I believe this restaurant may be difficult to navigate.“
“The food was delicious and full of flavor. Great salsa bar to add more flavor to your food. Customer service was excellent. They got one of our burrito orders wrong and happily and quickly got us another burrito. I wish we had one in Oregon!“
“came in on valentine's day, was very lonely and sad. That was until a hunk of server came in and made my day. he offered to be my date, i very much accepted. he cooked the food for me, gave me a show, and still managed to clean the table. thank you kevin for making my night, call me.“
“I have been going here 25 years, love it! But, yes, just 1 but, the dog thing is out of control and stupid, everywhere. I don't want to eat with dogs. If people want dogs at their table while they eat, do it at home. I don't live there. But all these entitled people that think it's OK to bring your dog into a restaurant or grocery store, knock it off! And my favorite place Jon's, definitely should not have dog food on the menu. I have always had dogs, and love them, but I also have respect for others.“
“The best place to watch the sunset. The Happy Hour was terrific. The service from everyone especially from Janelle and her bartenders James and Kevin was spectacular. There service and warmth will bring us back every time. Cant wait to return..“
“So after reading about this Hillstone copycat we finally decided to try it. Houston’s which is one of the Hillstone brands has changed their signature Tortilla Soup recipe and not liking the new version I decided to try the Coastal Kitchen version. I rate it a 9.5 copy of the original from Houston’s. It needed a little more cheese but was excellent in every other aspect and it alone will bring me back. The starter salad with the honey mustard dressing was on point and actually better than Houston’s. Our guests had the chowder which in every way resembled the Houston’s version. Their French Dip was enjoyed by our other guest and the fries were perfect. My wife’s blackened grouper sandwich was merely ok and quite frankly since most of the menu is an excellent Hillstone knockoff then I would suggest recreating the Gulfstream Gulf Coast Style Fish Sandwich. The only negative menu item we sampled was the Chicken BLT. It was not awful but the chicken was overcooked as was the bacon and it doesn’t even come close to competing with the Ding’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich at the Hillstone locations. I’m all for innovation and signature changes but if you’re going to do that then maintain the same high quality and taste standard for all the menu items. All of us agreed we will be back to try the rest of the menu for lunch and dinner. Service was excellent and the atmosphere although a little acoustically challenging was comfortable and inviting. I came close to rating this establishment five stars but they just fall a little short of that mark. Still well worth a visit and I hope to revise my rating in the future. Look out Hillstone you have a worthy challenger and that’s high praise in itself.“
