This restaurant specializes is poki bowls (rice base with sushi). It’s kinda a build your own, with choices for rice, the sushi, and the toppings.The food is extraordinary, fresh, and very tasty. The rice is a bit underwhelming, but still very good.The location is a bit of a hole in the wall, with minimal parking, a liquor store next door (in case you really need that drink!), and a sign for “tattoos”. Heard great things about this place and wanted my friend to visit that really likes poke bowls. The food came out fairly quickly. As for the Poke bowl and musubi, it was fine but not as great as others claimed it to be.

So good! This is the best poke spot in Orange County. I’ve tried many, and most one of them disappoint with low quality ingredients and fish that is clearly not fresh and looks/tastes chunky and nasty. I’m confused how there are so many mediocre poke spots, but I guess we’re very lucky to have a great spot like Kawamata in San Clemente/Capo.
