“Decided to try RJ's for breakfast when visiting friends in Dana Point. We had to wait about 20 minutes because it was packed with people. The service was very good and all employees helped each other since it was so busy. The breakfast menu was huge and everything was made from scratch. Definitely worth the wait! Would highly recommend RJ's to all my friends and family.“
“One of my favorite local spots. The food is always on point and fresh. The service is always great. Go for breakfast and get some incredible pastries. They’re delicious and they rotate the selection constantly which makes it fun. Their pasta is made in house, so we love going for dinner as well. I’ve tried several of the pasta dishes and I’ve never been disappointed. I could ramble on forever. Just make reservations (you have to call at least 24 hours in advance) and leave a little extra time to park. The lot in the back is small and if you can’t find a spot there, you’ll need to street park.“
“So after reading about this Hillstone copycat we finally decided to try it. Houston’s which is one of the Hillstone brands has changed their signature Tortilla Soup recipe and not liking the new version I decided to try the Coastal Kitchen version. I rate it a 9.5 copy of the original from Houston’s. It needed a little more cheese but was excellent in every other aspect and it alone will bring me back. The starter salad with the honey mustard dressing was on point and actually better than Houston’s. Our guests had the chowder which in every way resembled the Houston’s version. Their French Dip was enjoyed by our other guest and the fries were perfect. My wife’s blackened grouper sandwich was merely ok and quite frankly since most of the menu is an excellent Hillstone knockoff then I would suggest recreating the Gulfstream Gulf Coast Style Fish Sandwich. The only negative menu item we sampled was the Chicken BLT. It was not awful but the chicken was overcooked as was the bacon and it doesn’t even come close to competing with the Ding’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich at the Hillstone locations. I’m all for innovation and signature changes but if you’re going to do that then maintain the same high quality and taste standard for all the menu items. All of us agreed we will be back to try the rest of the menu for lunch and dinner. Service was excellent and the atmosphere although a little acoustically challenging was comfortable and inviting. I came close to rating this establishment five stars but they just fall a little short of that mark. Still well worth a visit and I hope to revise my rating in the future. Look out Hillstone you have a worthy challenger and that’s high praise in itself.“
“Wow! This place hits the mark on all levels. Their double-fermented bread is easy on the belly and delicious — the next-best to gluten-free. They juice the drinks for you from fresh, organic produce that you can see in their fridge — talk about transparency in terms of customers seeing the ingredients. Their salads are so fresh, with interesting ingredients such as watermelon radish — yum! It’s the first time I’ve tried that. It has a slightly sweet flavor and very crunchy texture. I had the avocado toast and chai latte, made with coconut milk. The chai spices were really superior to any coffee house I’ve visited. You can purchase imported spices there and buy loose teas by the spoonful. I bought nettle tea. You’ll find cards and notebooks and even gently used fashionable clothes there for sale. There’s plenty of free parking and you can take a walk at the marina across the street to unwind. Bravo Organic Tree for your healthy, supportive, community-minded contribution to the world.“
“Their passion shines through in everything they do. Not only are they a winery, but they also offer exceptional food beyond the typical cheese boards and crackers. The ambiance is remarkable—far from the usual brown, oaky wine setting. It's opulent yet inviting, adorned with cheerful colors. My first visit was delightful, and I look forward to returning soon.“
“My fiancé and I had such a nice time cake tasting for our elopement. They made us feel so special with champagne and a cute picture opportunity at the end. So sweet and such a nice ambiance to make a special decision even more special! Would definitely recommend!!“
“I had lived in this area for many years, but never been to Jimmy's until yesterday. And it was fabulous! My friends and I went for her birthday and had a great time with great food, drink, service and the atmosphere was fabulous!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free buns“
“Gorgeous cafe located on a beautifully renovated little corner of Dana Point. So many varieties of avocado toasts and mix of European and American style menu for all tastes. We had Avocado toast with arugula and Dutch Boy, they were both fabulous. All the staff that were serving us were super friendly and they looked genuinely happy to be there. One of my new favorite for weekend brunch.“
“Delahunt Taproom and Taqueria in Dana Point was outstanding. We decided to come down for lunch and a couple beers! We ended up staying a lot longer than expected because the vibe and staff were incredible! The food was very good! Our beertender Gavin was outstanding! He knew the selections of beers and made excellent recommendations! The vibe was our style. Not too loud! They had the games on as well! The beer was exceptional- we tried a variety of different styles from IPAs to an epic Blueberry Almond BBA Stout! They do flights as well for those wondering! They have an outdoor seating area with heaters! We will definitely be coming back next time we’re in town! These guys know what’s up! Thanks guys! Till next time! -Tom“
“I love stacks. The first time I went to any of their locations was 11 years ago. I love that they've had enough success to expand more and more over the years and still maintain the same level of food throughout each location. I do wish they would go back to rotating their specials more frequently but I think that's probably harder to do with all of the locations they now have. My typical go to nowadays is the island chilaquiles.“
“Very lively evening, and likely due to that, the service was a little slow. Had a few cocktails all around $15 a piece and some appetizers. Everything was good, but the oysters were tiny, as were the mussels. I should have taken a photo of the oysters....Also, more bread is needed. Had to order more as two pieces was not enough for the tasty broth. The ahi tacos were bountiful and filling.“
“I honestly cannot understand any negative reviews for this restaurant. Not only is it beautiful, but the food is wonderful! Their round pizzas have the most special and unique crisp crust. It’s just phenomenal! The toppings are thoughtful and high quality. The umami mushroom and la foresta were some of the best pizzas I’ve ever had anywhere. The salads are delicious as well.I’m so happy to have somewhere special nearby that takes pride in their food and doesn’t taste like every other place around.“
“I was happy with the service and the quality of food. I only had the new Modern Greek Salad so I can't judge the rest of the menu, but the salad was delicious and seemed really fresh. The workers here were happy to help me and served me with a smile. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. The best salad in the center!“
“Amazing service, fabulous food!! Enjoy our meal! Love the asparagus fries...one of the best linguini and clam sauce I ever had!! Best tiramisu too! Only concern is that the bathroom needs to be checked in on more frequently...a bit dirty. The restaurant could use a little bit of an update...but will certainly return soon!!~“
“Our meal here was absolutely fantastic... We tried the hummus and liver pate appetizers to start, our companions had the salmon and we tried the lemon sole and lamb(the Volcano). Everything was so delicious and beautifully presented. Great service and yes one could carry on a conversation...“
“Just had my first visit here, and it certainly won't be my last! I absolutely adore the super cool beachy atmosphere right here in Dana Point. The burger was spot on, incredibly delicious, and the staff went above and beyond to be helpful and friendly. I think I've just discovered my new favorite burger spot!“
“This restaurant specializes is poki bowls (rice base with sushi). It’s kinda a build your own, with choices for rice, the sushi, and the toppings. The food is extraordinary, fresh, and very tasty. The rice is a bit underwhelming, but still very good. The location is a bit of a hole in the wall, with minimal parking, a liquor store next door (in case you really need that drink!), and a sign for “tattoos”. I’m not really sure if they do Tattoos here, but maybe? Or maybe it’s just an inside joke? This is the place you come to and order to go. While they do have tables in the parking lot, I’m not sure I want to eat next to running cars in a filthy parking lot…“
“Excellent Pizza with amazing flavor. The toppings were more than plentiful. They offer good choice specialty pizzas or build your own. The crust was very tasty all by itself. It's quick serve kind of place with both inside and outside seating. You're at the beach so bring a light weight jacket. Staff very friendly and recognized local repeat guests. We will definitely return soon!“
“My husband and I stopped in while visiting family in Dana Point. The owner was so kind and even helped me find their Yelp profile. The cashier was also sweet and welcoming. It's so cute inside; I loved the decor, and the place was super clean. They have juices, smoothies, sandwiches, and açaí bowls! I had the green juice and it was really refreshing. I would definitely visit again“
“The perfect casual spot to pick up your morning croissant or a bespoke picnic experience before being shuttled to the shore. Enjoy a variety of pre packed options for your picnic from select meats and wine to a full production! Please take care to note these experiences take up to 48 hours to prep and plan, so be sure to call ahead!“
“We needed to find a place last minute to host a small baptism dinner in Dana point and we are from SanDiego area, I was looking online and found this Gem!!! Not only were they accommodating and very patient the whole staff there were great!! They were all happy and polite. The food came out at perfect timing. All the guests were happy and kept saying how they enjoyed themselves. The food was Delicious (prosciutto flatbread) was my favoritethe desserts were good too! The prices were very reasonable The atmosphere was perfect for the occasion. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town can't wait to try their breakfast menu and one of those cupcakes!“
“Great view and okay selection of small plates. We went here on a weekday afternoon. Seating at Restaurant Raya was 39 minutes wait hence we decided to have a drink and small plate at 180Blu. There were not many people but still service was very slow. We ordered fries, taco and oysters.Oysters were fresh and good. The view is fantastic. Order s glass of wine or champagne and enjoy the view.Parking: Parking is valet and it is $30 for day time valet.“
“Kaycee is amazing! So friendly and happy to serve her customers. She literally listens (I'm high maintenance) and delivers what you ask for with a smile on her face. Patio is great in warm weather and dog friendly! I highly recommend, but be sure to ask for Kaycee to take care of you. Happy hour has great deals.“
“We came to this place for some breakfast and were not disappointed. When we came in, there was no line, although while we were there, people were coming and coming. The food here is amazing, and we really liked the croissant and the croque madame. The service is quick, and the personnel is friendly.“
“So so good! We needed a good Mexican restaurant. Margaritas address delicious and everything I’ve tried has been superb! Chicken nachos, steak tacos, beef flautas, little casita salad. All so good. It has a cool ambiance too! Glad they’re in Dana Point now!“
“I've been here before but this time around was the best visit. The server Shane had the best service and recommendations. He told me to start with the cocojito. That drink tasted great! I got a couple entrees as well. While eating my fries, Shane told me about their "secret sauce" and ran to the back to get me a side of it. The cherry on top was being able to watch all the NBA games. They had the warriors game on the big screen. Ambiance for sports fans is top tier. I will be definitely be coming back!“
“If you haven't been to the Waldorf Astoria during the holidays, you really have to go and experience. We decided to have cocktails and nibbles right by the fireplace at 33 north . we had the entire sofa to ourselves and the fireplace right at our backs the staff our waiter was so kind and so friendly and so attentive.. we enjoyed the grilled Caesar salad and the braised short rib quesadilla. Delicious.!!! This is a pricey place to have a cocktail and nibbles, however, I will say it is worth it especially during the holidays. It's really delightful. We got there early to walk around the property and just take all of the holiday joy. This is one of our go to places.“
“Great happy hour values! $5.00 bubbles! The green chill fries @ $8.00 were amazing. The pork was very flavorful and delicious. Only con was it was very noisy. We were sat on the patio next to the street. Lots of revving engines. Our server Kelsey was great! We'll be back!“
“Excellent custom sandwiches at a great price! The Squaw bread is the best! They have a menu of sandwiches that you use as a starting point, and then you customize the way you like it. Plenty of parking available. There is a little outdoor patio in the back, or you can hike about 3 minutes down towards the end of the street and sit on a bench overlooking Dana Point Harbor.“
“This is a staple every time we visit California. We have been going there for 10 years since they were a popup coffee stand. My wife loves their coffee so much, we waited for an hour for them to open so she could get a coffee before we flew back home.“
“My husband and I ate at AVEO twice while we were staying at the Waldorf Astoria. We sat on the terrace both times and really enjoyed taking in the beautiful resort grounds. The food at AVEO is unique and delicious and the waitstaff was very nice. We loved the Pan al Horno which was kind of a bread charcutier board. It comes with fairly minimal items, but the bread is fantastic! We ordered it both times we went. We also ordered the Mexican Mac and Cheese which was also really good. Their mixed drinks fabulous and they also have a decent beer selection if that is more your thing. If you are staying at the Waldorf Astoria, definitely check out AVEO!Kid-friendliness: There were several families eating here. It gets a little loud but it is definitely a child friendly restaurant.“
“Carlos Mexican restaurant REVIEW: 1. Food: 9/10. california burrito was exquisite, ingredient flexibility is awesome, slight portion mismanagement with the beans and meat compared to the rest on said burrito, but mainly just nitpicking. 2. Ambiance: 10/10. Do note we came at a down time. ambiance was calm, had a distinct hawaiian feel. 3. Cleanliness: 8/10. Bathrooms were meh. rest of restaurant was acceptable 4. Service: 10/10. Helps to speak spanish, but waiters are equally friendly if you aren't bilingual. Fast service, food was out in 15 mins, and my water glass never fell empty. final score: 37/40= A-“
“We have come here several times to enjoy the sunset at the Dana Point Harbor. Lots of seating available outside this place with umbrellas. Had the matcha lavender latte and the macaroon. Both were delicious with the drink being nice and hot like I enjoy it. There is a lot of walking available around the harbor and people watching. Lots of dogs and strollers. It’s an enjoyable time anytime at the oceans side.“
“Restaurant with a beautiful view of the Dana Point Marina. Food is delicious. Scallops were seared beautifully and fish was blackened nicely. First time ever eating Mexican oysters and they were good! Make a reservation for sunset time and ask for a window seat by the water.Parking: Large free parking lot by the marina.Wheelchair accessibility: Stairs all over so I believe this restaurant may be difficult to navigate.“
“Loved the food quality, price and service they provided us while visiting Dana Point from Placer County. As a REALTOR, I always love supporting local businesses! “Best coffee I’ve had on the coast besides Urban City in Washington state. One of the lady employees even came out and entertained my five year old some for a few minutes. I highly recommend this place for a great coffee.Kid-friendliness: The employees were very friendly to my five year old son.“
“I wanted a quick lunch to go. They have order sheet on a counter you can order from. A large variety to choose from. I ordered the chicken salad and it was huge for $12. Polite staff and salad was delicious. I will be back when I am in the area“
“Very warm and friendly service, engaged in a chat based on my coffee thermo that I got from my travel while getting my seasonal drink fix. This location is difficult to get into if you're north-bound on PCH (-1 star), but when you need your coffee, your will to get into this Starbuck can be strong. There is a drive through, but I parked to take a break from driving. There are less than 10 spots with 2 ♿️ spaces,I think (can see one from my photo). Will return, especially if I'm going south-bound on PCH. Enjoy!“
“Absolutely delicious, healthy vegan food. I had their fiesta bowl with jackfruit carnitas on greens. Big serving! My omnivore friend had to finish it & he was impressed too! I also took home some of their superfood granola. It was fantastic, but pricey at $13 for about 13 oz. Sparkling clean counter service restaurant with a small outdoor patio & tables inside. Staff was really friendly! Highly recommend Vibe Kitchen if you're looking for a great healthy meal with animal products. Food is made to order, and worth the wait!Dietary restrictions: Whole food plant based, vegan and gluten free“
