Great deli in Dana Point, always good!
Tutor and Spunky’s is a great old-school Dana Point deli! The sandwiches are big, fresh, and loaded with plenty of meat and toppings, and there are tons of choices on the menu. It has that casual neighborhood deli feel that’s getting harder to find around here.

Stopped by this delicious spot near the coastline! The Turkey Bacon Avocado sandwich felt so hefty with meat, very generous portions. If you want to bring your family here after an entire day out at the beach, this place is a high recommendation.

Based on the reviews, Tutor & Spunky's Deli is a great little sandwich shop and a staple in the Orange County area. It is the Cheers of sandwich shops, with a local proprietor and employees like Rosa who have been there over 25 years. The deli offers Squaw Bread as an option, and the Italian dressing is homemade and flavorful. The menu includes the Tutor’s Special with ham, capicolla, salami, and prosciutto, as well as a tasty Ruben pastrami and a delicious tuna sub. Some sandwiches, like the Teresa’s Touch, may have waterlogged turkey and tasteless avocado, but the Pasta salad is enjoyable. The food is delicious, with quality ingredients and good flavors. There is a fabulous view from the back patio and outside seating with a nice view of the water. The service is excellent, with kind people eager to make sandwiches with lots of love. The parking lot is a bit small, but there is usually space during off-peak times.
