“We needed something quick while we were out and wanted something that would leave us feeling good - found Urban Plates and it exceeded what we were looking for! My grass-fed steak was tender and juicy, the mac n cheese was comforting and delicious, and the side of beets paired well with the goat cheese. My husband enjoyed his crispy chicken sandwich and fries. I love the variety of food offered at Urban Plates and knowing my body is getting high quality nutrients while enjoying something delicious!

“Lovely little bakery. Generously sized pastries and a good selection of drinks, including matcha lattes. The flavors of pastry include a wide variety like pistachio, strawberry, and hazelnut. Their namesake saffron cake is delicious and beautiful. The staff are always warm and welcoming.“

“I used to live in the area and happened to find this gem of a restaurant when visiting. The food is excellent and affordable. I had the shrimp dish with rice and paneer garlic bread. It was spiced and seasoned perfectly. I want to add that the chef and staff are amazing. It was well worth the discovery!“

We have received their chips and salsa, and it is one of the best salsas I've ever had because it reminded me of Chevys' salsa but slightly sweeter. For those of you who know what place I'm talking about, it is the Chevys that used to be in Anaheim on Santa Ana Canyon Road before the restaurant El Cholo took over. Anyway, the meal I ordered was the Carnitas platter, and I liked it. As for my boyfriend he got the Green Sauce Enchilada and he thought it was okay so I decided to try it and I didn't like it at all. The reason why the enchilada didn't taste appealing to me is because it had cumin seasoning in it. I think if they removed the seasoning, the enchiladas would taste a lot better, in my opinion. Also, I almost forgot that I also had their matcha latte, which was good.The matcha latte was good because they let me make it slightly sweeter that way the matcha wouldn't be too bitter and it wasn't which I liked. 🍵For dessert, my boyfriend and I ordered the flan, and it tasted really good. I was also happy that my boyfriend enjoyed it, so we would definitely order that again. Last but not least, the customer service was great, and I'm glad there are still some people who try hard to give the best customer service. So my boyfriend and I will definitely come back for the chips and salsa and the flan.Also, a warning for people just trying this place for the first time: I recommend that you bring a smaller party since this place isn't too big. 😊“

“3rd time here. Tasty and great food in a no frills clean mom and pop vibe AV location that I think competes well against other Asian restaurants in the s. Oc area. Definitely worthy of a try if you are looking for Korean (Asian) style food. Nice Service too“

“Rarely do I find a restaurant where I want to try everything on the menu!! My friends and I had lunch here a few weeks ago; a few had been there before and they loved it. I was excited to try it. I ordered the Roasted Cauliflower and Chickpeas Bowl with added protein of grilled shrimp. It was absolutely delicious and so fresh…the shrimp was done perfectly. We also shared the cauliflower and dates appetizer. I was a little skeptical at first about the interesting combination, but they were fantastic…and addicting! I liked the overall atmosphere of the restaurant and the service was excellent too. My husband and I will be dining there tonight, and he is excited because there are several GF items he can try. I highly recommend this restaurant for their fresh and delicious foods!“

“This place is a hidden gem. 10/10 would eat again. The food is great. The staff are friendly. There are a TON of choices for drinks and sides (bottled drinks and individual chip bags). Large enough menu for both lunch and breakfast and they have rotating daily specials. They will be happy to make you a lunch time sandwich even at 8am.Can’t compliment this place enough. “Craving some udon while we were passing through the area so we decided to stop here for a quick early dinner on a weekend. It was quiet and service was quick.

Set up like a Chipotle and Subway. You order your main dish and you move along to customize it by adding tempuras (extra fee), vegetables (extra fee), green onions, or tempura flakes.

The udon soup base and noodles was good. The tempura batter on my shrimp tempuras was too thick and not light and flaky. I wanted to add vegetables to my udon and wish they were cooked first or cooked with my soup. Dumping uncooked vegetables into my soup just cooled everything down right away.

There was a lot of seating inside and on their large outdoor patio. The place was very clean.“

The distribution of beef and veggies was nicely wrapped. Of course, their namesake zait and Zatar was super tasty. Staff was kind and service was quick. Patio is spacious, clean and well lit. As I was running in to get a juice, this morning, I accidentally dropped my reusable cup and the rim broke off.
