“If you find yourself in Newport Beach, definitely visit Woody's Wharf. It opened in 1965 and is a staple in the area. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served and the food is delicious. Clam chowder is made fresh daily. They have martini Mondays and a daily champagne brunch that goes until 3 pm. They have a full service bar with a beautiful view of the marina. People are friendly and the customer service is amazing. Bar, table top and outdoor seating is available. It can get busy on weekends and holidays, so consider reservations. “Located in the beautiful Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach, this spot is perfect if you’re craving fresh seafood or sushi after a beach day. They also have a great variety of drinks including Arizona teas, Gatorade, beer, and wine.

I stopped by on a Saturday evening after spending time at the nearby beach, and luckily it wasn’t too crowded. Ordering was quick and easy, and there was plenty of seating available both inside and outside. The outdoor patio was especially nice for enjoying the cool Newport Beach evening weather.

I ordered the specialty burrito with ahi poke, and it came out in less than 10 minutes. The burrito was huge, fresh, flavorful, and packed with quality ingredients. Definitely one of the most refreshing meals I’ve had recently.

The sourdough rolls have been replaced with a sweetbread that we didn't care for. The escargot seemed to be missing garlic altogether and came with 3 small toasts, not enough! The wedge salad was just uninteresting and the bacon bits were hard enough to crack a tooth. The ribeye was cooked to perfection as was the halibut but the small side of au gratin potatoes tasted old and refrigerated, we left them. We could have complained to our exceptional waiter, Colin, but we just chalked it up to changing times. We've had countless perfect dinners at 21 O to remember, this just wasn't one of them,“

We shared the Caesar salad, which was crisp and tasty, and we shared the chicken creamy pesto pasta that was very satisfying, our server was very attentive, and the food was presented promptly, considering the location and the quality of food and the ambience of the restaurant. We felt that we got very good value for our dollar spent.“

“Had a lovely meal at the restaurant. Food was beautifully prepared. We had the burrata toast. It was amazing to look at and tasted wonderful. I think I might have made the bread slightly thinner but it was a joy to eat. I had the seafood arabiatta. It was packed with clams, shrimp and mussels with a lovely sauce, rigatoni pasta and slices of parmigiana. My husband had the steak, perfectly prepared with a sauce he found unctuous. Our waiter was personable and attentive. He called for a golf cart for us (noting my husband has mobility issues.). All in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience.“

“We had high hopes coming to Olea, but alas we were disappointed. Location/Ambiance: Westcliff Plaza and small with a large bar at the front, the layout leaves little space for tables. We sat in a snug booth alongside the windows with a view of Susie Cakes next door. The decor is warm and modern. Food: Subpar! Burnt bread but delicious whipped butter. Butter lettuce and Goat cheese salad was bland with a basic dressing. Mac and cheese skillet was good but nothing amazing. Filet was dry with overdone gluey mashed potatoes, and underdone broccolini. Halibut was pan seared to a dry mess with an inedible coating, bland steamed seasonal vegetables of cauliflower, carrots, and broccoli as a side. Service: Friendly and Fake, if you enjoy watching servers walk away from your table talking about how "picky and difficult you are" this is a perfect spot. My Mother has dietary restrictions and we are specific to ensure a safe dining experience, it's sad when that's met with disdain. Overall: We won't be back!“

The restaurant is on the fourth floor, and to get up there you step through the RH gallery showcasing insanely beautiful furniture and home decor. The incredible ocean views are breathtaking. Even the washroom is incredible. The food is pretty good, high quality and presented nicely. The crispy potatoes had zero seasoning though. Staff are very professional and friendly.“

“Bayside Restaurant in Newport Beach is a gem, especially for its live music every night. The atmosphere is so captivating that I often find myself singing along or even getting up to dance. The food and service are just as exceptional: my go-to dishes are the scallops, the lamb, and all the steaks. The seafood is so fresh and the steaks are far superior in flavor to any high-end restaurant. For appetizers, the ahi tuna tartare is a must-try (THE BEST I’ve had anywhere), and the calamari with its Thai-style twist of chilies, green onion, and cilantro over an amazing salad is a standout. Desserts? Absolutely heavenly. The cheesecake and panna cotta are favorites, but the Grand Marnier souffle is simply to die for. The service is also impeccable…from the moment you arrive with the complimentary valet service, to the hostesses, the bartenders, servers, and bussers. Everyone is so friendly and attentive! The omakase-style experience lets the chef guide the meal, which means you get a thoughtful progression of flavors instead of just ordering off a menu. Every bite feels intentional, from delicate cuts of sashimi to perfectly seasoned nigiri.

The atmosphere adds to the experience too. It’s a smaller, more personal sushi bar, which makes it feel focused and calm rather than rushed or commercial. You can actually watch the chefs work, and there’s a level of attention to detail that makes the meal feel special rather than routine.

Service is another strong point—attentive without being overwhelming. The pacing of the meal is well handled, and you never feel like you’re waiting too long or being rushed through courses.

“We love the Alley Restaurant, my husband and I walk there quite frequently because we are in the neighborhood. The food and service is always superb. The only thing we have a problem with is the noise level. We don't like to take visitors there because we cannot hear each other talk, but we love going there by ourselves and enjoy our conversations. The Big Baja bucket for two is generously loaded with grilled steak strips, lobster tails, shrimp, chicken and your choice of a salad or chowder, beans and rice, corn on the cob. The atmosphere is very festive, the only way it could be a little better is if there were more room, but because of the location it's in that's just not possible.
