“Absolutely stunning atmosphere our server Aubree’s customer service was outstanding! Thank you so much you were very knowledgeable , and kind. All of our food came out outstanding except my Ribeye it was served below par and charred it also tasted burnt I don’t think I’ll take another chance on a ribeye here due to the boiler situation it’s left in too long cause the entire steak to be a waste. The seafood was absolutely delicious though I would stick with seafood if I were to recommend anything. Great dine must try just don’t get steak!“

“We recently stayed two nights at the Doryman B&B which sits right above this restaurant. We normally stay at larger, more refined hotels, but it is impossible to replace the charm and personal attention a smaller B&B can give you. Although we had some minor issues with the AC, they bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable. A big plus was the direct staircase from our floor straight into 21 Oceanfront Restaurant. The setting is perfect, directly across from the beach and Newport pier. A classic steak and seafood restaurant it is. A fine dining restaurant it is. Impeccable customer service it has. Tony, the bartender exchanged many Las Vegas stories with us and treated us well. The manager, Mark, was very personable and it was easy to see that he is very hands-on and enjoys what he does. We will definitely return on another trip to Newport Beach. Thank you to all the staff at 21 Oceanfront and The Doryman B&B.“

“We had high hopes coming to Olea, but alas we were disappointed. Location/Ambiance: Westcliff Plaza and small with a large bar at the front, the layout leaves little space for tables. We sat in a snug booth alongside the windows with a view of Susie Cakes next door. The decor is warm and modern. Food: Subpar! Burnt bread but delicious whipped butter. Butter lettuce and Goat cheese salad was bland with a basic dressing. Mac and cheese skillet was good but nothing amazing. Filet was dry with overdone gluey mashed potatoes, and underdone broccolini. Halibut was pan seared to a dry mess with an inedible coating, bland steamed seasonal vegetables of cauliflower, carrots, and broccoli as a side. Service: Friendly and Fake, if you enjoy watching servers walk away from your table talking about how "picky and difficult you are" this is a perfect spot. My Mother has dietary restrictions and we are specific to ensure a safe dining experience, it's sad when that's met with disdain. Overall: We won't be back!“

Everything from the appetizers to dessert were perfect. Every dish is made with true italian fresh and natural ingredients and is made by traditional recipes. The talented chef M. makes pastas and pizzas daily and they taste amazing. Also the house wine is a good selection. I suggest you to have their own valuable wine. Il Farro has a great management and staff too. We loved interacting with customers and guys who work in, they became like family for us. They do have enough seats and limited outdoor seating, but get a reservation in advance to make sure you have a place.Hands off, this is the best place to gather with friends or family! “Wonderful view and we had great service. We've always enjoyed coming here. The food was very good. We had the lobster bisque and the clam chowder. Both were good. We shared the Caesar salad, which was crisp and tasty, and we shared the chicken creamy pesto pasta that was very satisfying, our server was very attentive, and the food was presented promptly, considering the location and the quality of food and the ambience of the restaurant. We felt that we got very good value for our dollar spent.“

The food and service are just as exceptional: my go-to dishes are the scallops, the lamb, and all the steaks. The seafood is so fresh and the steaks are far superior in flavor to any high-end restaurant. For appetizers, the ahi tuna tartare is a must-try (THE BEST I’ve had anywhere), and the calamari with its Thai-style twist of chilies, green onion, and cilantro over an amazing salad is a standout. Desserts? Absolutely heavenly. The cheesecake and panna cotta are favorites, but the Grand Marnier souffle is simply to die for. The service is also impeccable…from the moment you arrive with the complimentary valet service, to the hostesses, the bartenders, servers, and bussers. Everyone is so friendly and attentive! Bayside is an experience I cherish every time. Can’t wait for my next visit!“

“Dinner at the Alley for my birthday. Got the Steak Diane , cooked perfectly and Brandy sauce was amazing. My partner got the Cajun Chicken pasta, which looked amazing and tasted really good. Waitress was great with refilling drinks and checking in with our table. The only thing I didnt like is the noise level is loud bc there's a bar next to the restaurant dining tables, which you had to talk louder to hear other people talking. Other than that , would definitely come back as I want to try their other dishes.“

“After living in Oceanside for seven years, Rockin' Baja Lobster became one of those places I could always count on. Great food, cold drinks, and a laid back harbor atmosphere made it a regular stop whenever I wanted to relax by the water. So when I started spending more time in Newport Beach, I was excited to find out there was a Rockin' Baja Lobster here too.

The Newport Beach location has its own personality, and that's something I really appreciate. It captures the same fun, casual Baja inspired experience while fitting perfectly into the Newport Harbor scene. Sitting near the waterfront with boats coming and going all day creates an atmosphere that's hard to beat. You can grab a table, order a drink, and before you know it, you've been sitting there for hours just enjoying the view.

The food is exactly why I've always loved Rockin' Baja Lobster. The seafood is fresh, the lobster is outstanding, the tacos are packed with flavor, and the portions are generous enough that nobody leaves hungry. Everything has that relaxed coastal feel that makes you want to order one more appetizer and stay a little longer. Whether you're there for a full dinner or just stopping in with friends after a day on the water, the menu never disappoints. And if you're going to eat anything there and you're coming to spend real money, you should go for any of their sombreros—loaded with shrimp, lobster, and meat, all insanely good.

The drinks are just as good. Ice cold beers, strong margaritas, and plenty of options make it easy to settle into vacation mode even if you're only there for an hour. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming, and the service keeps everything moving without ever making you feel rushed.

What I really enjoy is how the Newport location has developed its own vibe. Even though it reminds me of all the great memories I made at the Oceanside location, it doesn't try to be the same place. Newport Harbor brings its own energy with boaters, beachgoers, locals, and visitors all coming together to enjoy one of the best waterfront dining experiences in town. It feels authentic to Newport while still giving me that familiar Rockin' Baja experience I've always enjoyed.

As the founder of Beerslut, I spend a lot of time visiting bars and restaurants that create memorable experiences because that's where the best stories usually begin. Rockin' Baja Lobster has been part of a lot of great memories over the years, both in Oceanside and now in Newport Beach. Some places earn your loyalty, and this is definitely one of them.

If you're looking for fresh seafood, great drinks, beautiful harbor views, and a fun atmosphere that captures everything people love about Southern California, Rockin' Baja Lobster in Newport Beach absolutely deserves a visit. It may have a different backdrop than the Oceanside location I grew to love, but it's every bit as welcoming, every bit as delicious, and just as beloved.
