Our server, Stockton, was very nice and made sure we got our food fast. The atmosphere is not overwhelming and quite cozy. “Wow! Such a nice and classy restaurant/hookah spot! We wanted some hookah so looked up nearby spots! We went in without a reservation on Saturday night. Hookah is served only after 6 pm. They have limited flavors but the hookah itself was great! I got the ground beef kebob plate (koobideh) with no rice because I'm on keto. I also asked for no dressing but a side of olive oil and lemon juice. They brought out my plate exactly as I ordered. The kebob was soo juicy and delicious! Everything was great! They even have a full bar so you can order alcohol or tea! Will definitely be back when we are in the area again!“

“its been a year and a half since I have been here yet their food still tastes excellent! The calamari is the best appetizer you can get in my opinion. I loved the marinara sauce that came with it. I ordered some type of truffle pasta and they did not skip out on the truffle!! Biggest amount of truffle I have seen a restaurant give. My dad ordered a shrimp type of pasta and that was also delectable. For a dessert, we ordered the chocolate tart and it was so good!! This restaurant is on the pricer side yet still amazing!!“
“I have ordered delivery a few times from this location for my staff, and each time our order has been correct and our food has been prepared perfectly. We have had the same delivery guy each time and he always friendly and pleasant. Round table the favorite pizza for most my staff, so when it’s right and the service is great, it just makes it that much better. “We had no plans for an Italian lunch. Our mid-morning walk turned into delicious smells coming from Ciao Balboa.The food was sooooooo good. Right down to the buttery, garlic brine the shrimp were in. Our salads were beautiful. The bread was so good we paid extra to take a bunch home.The atmosphere was open and airy. “I LOVE this place! My family and I wanted to go somewhere new and decided on Skal Pizza. It being our first time we didn't know what to get. Our server Payton was so patient and kind. He suggested the butternut squash pizza and the kale ceaser salad. And he was right, it was amazing! We could tell the staff were all so friendly and our server was especially helpful. “The menu is hard to read so either look at it online or be prepared to squink. The seating is a pretty crowded configuration but there is additional seating outside which is nice unless it's raining. Limited coffee bar selection, and they do not serve food in the order it is placed. I ordered an omelette and it took about 25 minutes to get it, while other guests who came after go there's before me. Also, I noticed with larger parties, because the dishes don't come out in order, it is pretty common for at least one or more of the guests to be left without their food forcing the rest of the part to start beforehand. The actual food was good so maybe opt for take out from this location.“

Bring food in and eat it there with a drink from the bartender. If you want suggestions on what food is good and close by ask the bartender or one of the locals hanging out having a drink. Pizza Pete is literally next door for pizza by the slice or whole pie. Great Mex is about a block away for tacos. The Balboa market makes sandwiches to order that are solid as well. Darts, pool tables, and games. This is a bar, so no one under 21 is admitted. I saw one review that thought you could bring a baby in. Not sure why the reviewer would believe that was okay but it is clearly against the law. Enjoy the local ambiance, lots of long time Newport characters hang out here. If you're interested in fishing you should have no problem finding someone to talk fishing with.“

“The food is amazing. Very authentic pizza and the homemade pastas are unique and flavorful. The only downside on the menu is dessert. There is a hazelnut chocolate torte that tastes waxy, the panna cotta is good but not great and they add a lot of unnecessary toppings like black sesame seeds, and finally the gelato was icy, not creamy. I won't stop coming here because of the dessert but just be forewarned. If it's your birthday just hope they have tiramisu which is often the dessert of the day and quite good. Also, I don't understand the need for club music. It takes away from the ambiance. We always opt to sit outside where we can hear one another and they are more than accommodating.“
