“We had high hopes coming to Olea, but alas we were disappointed. Location/Ambiance: Westcliff Plaza and small with a large bar at the front, the layout leaves little space for tables. We sat in a snug booth alongside the windows with a view of Susie Cakes next door. The decor is warm and modern. Food: Subpar! Burnt bread but delicious whipped butter. Butter lettuce and Goat cheese salad was bland with a basic dressing. Mac and cheese skillet was good but nothing amazing. Filet was dry with overdone gluey mashed potatoes, and underdone broccolini. Halibut was pan seared to a dry mess with an inedible coating, bland steamed seasonal vegetables of cauliflower, carrots, and broccoli as a side. Service: Friendly and Fake, if you enjoy watching servers walk away from your table talking about how "picky and difficult you are" this is a perfect spot. My Mother has dietary restrictions and we are specific to ensure a safe dining experience, it's sad when that's met with disdain. Overall: We won't be back!“

“Bayside Restaurant in Newport Beach is a gem, especially for its live music every night. The atmosphere is so captivating that I often find myself singing along or even getting up to dance. The food and service are just as exceptional: my go-to dishes are the scallops, the lamb, and all the steaks. The seafood is so fresh and the steaks are far superior in flavor to any high-end restaurant. For appetizers, the ahi tuna tartare is a must-try (THE BEST I’ve had anywhere), and the calamari with its Thai-style twist of chilies, green onion, and cilantro over an amazing salad is a standout. Desserts? Absolutely heavenly. The cheesecake and panna cotta are favorites, but the Grand Marnier souffle is simply to die for. The service is also impeccable…from the moment you arrive with the complimentary valet service, to the hostesses, the bartenders, servers, and bussers. Everyone is so friendly and attentive! Bayside is an experience I cherish every time. Can’t wait for my next visit!“

“This was a very special visit. My aunt used to take me here with my mom and sister when we were young. I came on a whim with my husband and the food brought back all the special memories.

We came for lunch and were served their special popovers with strawberry butter and consommé. It was just as delightful as I remembered. My husband was really impressed.

Did I mentioned that both items come with the meal?

For lunch, I ordered the pecan crusted salmon and he ordered the chicken Milanese. Both were delicious! My salmon was a great piece of quality fish. It was cooked perfectly and the pecan crust was a light and crispy compliment to the stellar fish. My husband was very happy with his chicken. It came with arugula in a savory a very light dressing. It was an impressive compliment to the chicken. Lastly, we ordered pumpkin pie and coffees.

Our lunch was under $100, and well worth it. Everything was fantastic. We had the sweetest server-I can’t recall her name but she was an older woman who made us want to come back and dine with her again and again.

“They have a nice dining area with indoor and outdoor seating which has a view of the water. Need to get rid of the fake, plastic flowers and the thumping music but overall the atmosphere is nice. The Avocado Fries were yummy and the Sea Bass was cooked perfectly and so delicious. Service was a little slow, the entrees were not brought out together so we had to wait so we could eat together. Seems like a good place for a date night.

Parking: There are a few spots in front of the restaurant but you will probably have to park in the nearby structure which they validate“

“I used to work at Nordstrom and back then it was “Blue Stove” and they only served little tapas. They have carried over some of the same recipes now that it’s Bazille. This place is always good and the food is consistent. They are know for their cilantro lime salad which my mom got. I got the mandarin chicken salad which was light and refreshing. I also highly recommend the tacos ! We will be back for sure! A nice place to stop for a drink when shopping too.“

“THE ULTIMATE GRILLED CHEESE ! You better believe it. My wife and I came here for lunch for the first time 2 weeks ago. Who doesn't loved a great grilled cheese sandwich with the lot.....bacon, cheese, tomato, caramelized onions on thick delicious sourdough ? WE DO ! We had to order The Ultimate Grilled Cheese ( mozzarella, cheddar, bacon, grilled tomato, sourdough ) and Caramelized Onions for $1 extra. And it came with a big serve of Steakhouse Fries. WHATTA DEAL FOR $15 ! We've lived in Irvine for 16 months and haven't had a decent grilled cheese sandwich anywhere...until here. WE'RE BACK ! On Saturday after taking care of business at Whole Foods Market we couldn't get over here fast enough for lunch. We walked inside at 1.25pm and it was packed out....even the huge outdoor patio was almost full. Hunter ( our server from our first visit ) saw us and said hi. We found a vacant table...not perfectly ideal as it was copping a cold breeze from the open door fronting their outdoor patio. GOOD ENOUGH ! A cheery server named Bree dropped by to take our lunch order and we asked for glasses of iced water. THIS TIME ! Now their lunch menu is very comprehensive......you don't get the elevated choices served here at your everyday local cafe. We had every intention of ordering something new like Seafood Fettuccine or Blackened Chicken Penne. BUT ! The Ultimate Grilled Cheese was sooooo good we had to have it again. But this time we shared because it is huge. We asked Bree for 1 x The Ultimate Grilled Cheese with Steakhouse Fries & add on Caramelized Onions. WHOO HOO ! Our incredibly delicious looking Ultimate Grilled Cheese with Hand Cut Fries arrived 10 minutes after we ordered it. We split it down the middle of course. MOUTHSATIONAL ! Hard to imagine a better made grilled cheese sandwich....I make a very good one at home. And the fat hand cut fries tasted awesome. DESSERT ! There was no way in the world we weren't going to order the Triple Chocolate Mousse ( dark chocolate cake, milk chocolate mousse, white chocolate mousse )...we had it the first time. And again it was TOTALLY DECADENT ! Bree made us a couple of very good double shot Cappuccinos with 2% milk and Monin hazelnut syrup. LUNCH CAN'T GET ANY BETTER !“

“We were pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful new eatery. We had the B-Boy Burger (Amazing, gooey, cheesy and delicious), The BLT was super yummy, with that real thick bacon, not those paper thin bacon slices, and the kids really liked the chicken tender (not dried out cardboard chicken). I will say, the Onion Rings are really good, crunchy and very delicious. Besides for the food being really good, we found the staff to be super friendly, and very timely with our order. This is definitely our go-to place going forward every time we come for a ferry ride.

“Moe B's Munchies is a great place to grab a quick meal to go. It's positioned right on the beachfront at Newport Dunes and has many great affordable options. From organic burgers to chicken sandwiches to amazing Cajun seasoned fries that has the similar texture and crunch of McDonald's fries but baked so it's healthier. Aside from the fries tho, the spicy mango margarita is delicious, especially on the beach on a nice summer day.“

“What could better on Balboa Island, than having a great grilled fish taco & Nitro Kicking Stout from San Diego's Knotty Brewing. One of the great local businesses on Balboa Island is Snipe Island Crafthouse. Delicious street tacos for $3 on tuesday & happy hour draft beer from 2:30 PM to 5:30. It's not always easy to find stout on tap on tap in OC, but they often have one stout on draft. They also serve grilled fish, Al Pastor & Carnitas tacos. I was overwhelmed by the fantastic aroma of the taco when the server put it on my table. The tacos are super fresh & scrumptious. Haven't tried their wood fired pizza, but I've heard good things.
