“I am a local and The Pendry lounge is one of those spots that has an amazing atmosphere with great service, and staff. It is the best bar scene currently in the OC. I’ve met people from all over the U.S there and always enjoy my time. All the bartenders are amazing. I always tell my friends to go and see for themselves. Friday and Saturday nights are extremely busy later in the night, so make sure you arrive before 9ish or there might be a line.“

“Class of ‘47 is literally the best bar on the peninsula! When my boyfriend and I visited here from Boston in February Trish was working and made us feel like instantly like home. She truly is one of the reasons that we moved to Newport! Her hospitality and unmatched personality is contagious. Trish always remembers everyone’s name, drink and a little tidbit about themselves… She is truly one of a kind and the reason why we keep going back to Class of ‘47!“

“Great ambiance, service, and food. Here’s what I liked and what was just ok:
Good:
- BLT wedge salad
- standard ribeye
- whipped potatoes
- Brussels sprouts
- fries
- key lime pie and chocolate dessert
- Flowers Pinot Noir
Decent:
- wood fired seafood tower (was good but a bit messy to eat)
- crispy shrimp deviled egg
Not great:
- pork chop (a bit overcooked)“

“Great place! Super atmospheric with the cool sycamore tree growing in the center of the place, and a very cool interior. Service is great, staff are always on their A-game in bringing about good vibes and good service. The food is pretty good, but super oily. The soda bread tastes excellent, as well as the potato chips that they probably fry in-house. Great place I will definitely go back to for a point or to watch some footy.
Vegetarian options: Think about it first.
Dietary restrictions: Food is labeled with ingredients and when in doubt ask your server.
Parking: Lots of parking.
Kid-friendliness: Probably fine. They might not be able to appreciate it.

“I used to work at Nordstrom and back then it was “Blue Stove” and they only served little tapas. They have carried over some of the same recipes now that it’s Bazille. This place is always good and the food is consistent. They are know for their cilantro lime salad which my mom got. I got the mandarin chicken salad which was light and refreshing. I also highly recommend the tacos ! We will be back for sure! A nice place to stop for a drink when shopping too.“

“Moe B's Munchies is a great place to grab a quick meal to go. It's positioned right on the beachfront at Newport Dunes and has many great affordable options. From organic burgers to chicken sandwiches to amazing Cajun seasoned fries that has the similar texture and crunch of McDonald's fries but baked so it's healthier. Aside from the fries tho, the spicy mango margarita is delicious, especially on the beach on a nice summer day.“

“A funny thing happened on the way today FedEx drop-off. Kalaveras is convientley located off of Jamboree. For the street tacos Tuesday, you are seated and then order the number of $1.50 per Taco that you want. Then you line up to get your Tacos. You can choose from about 5 types of meat Tacos. Then, you can add vegetables and salsa types. There is a modern mexican restaurant vibe here. Have fun.“

“We have discovered another young incredibly talented chef that is very much flying under the radar. The chefs table is actually a bar looking into their open kitchen. in the middle of a strip mall Italian restaurant, Zach doesn’t really do menus as he likes to wing it as he goes along, like a sushi omakase where the chef sizes up his guests and their reactions and modifies it as he goes along. Drove me nuts as I was trying to do wine pairings ahead of time but he changed the menu way too many times to keep up. All the dishes are farmers market driven, with most incorporating ingredients from Chino farms. Meats and seafood are wild/grass fed and curated with care. His creative sauces and seasonings are what really stand out. The dishes are bold yet well-balanced. Zach is a chef savant who combines ingredients in an avant guard style , and it works. He uses buttermilk and yogurt instead of cream. Many of the ingredients are fermented. And all the plates are custom designed like what they did at Alinea so the presentations are artful and make the food look even more enticing. This guy is going places.
